Ok, my current set up is Bilstein 5100s @ 1.75 in the front and 1.5 aal in the rear. The truck rides great with no vibrations or bad road mannors.

I was wanting to go up, but didn't know if I should reach the 2.5 setting on the Bilstiens or just buy some OME coils (887 or 888) and put the Bilsteins back at 0?

I've read the Bilsteins would have too much preload on the stock springs and would need new ucas at this setting to achieve a good alignment. Is there an advantage going with the OME set up as far as not needing new ucas and alignment issues?

I hear people say the OME rides much better than stock. Im trying to hit the 2.5 to 3" range.

    Thanks for the help.

P S: I've used the search button several times, but couldn't find a specific answer.

I'm running the OME 888' and 5100' at 0 up front. I like it a lot and I think it rides much better then stock. It really soaks up the curbs/bumps and has great road manors as well. By the way I'm running stock UCA, however had not had a chance to get it aligned. Talked to a few guys that said it should be no issue after looking at the setup.

You're gonna get mixed opinions about control arms at 2-3 inches front lift. If they can't align it you will need to pony up for some.

I'm running 5100's on stock springs and it's fine for what I use the truck for which is hauling stuff for work and daily commuting and the occasional forest service road or camping trip. I did however replace my UCAs.

Thanks for the input! How much lift did you end up with? I wish I would've gone this route in the first place.....

Yea, I see the already. Not many people seem to have set the Bilsteins at 2.5!

Do you have them on the 2.5 setting? Is the ride too harsh?

    OME 887 w/Bilstein 5100's, 1.5 AAL, SPC LR UCAs 285/75/r16 Toyo AT2s!
Buy the 887 and set at 0.

I wouldn't recommend preloading that much. Buy aftermarket UCA, your alignment will never come out right.

So, I would get a little less with the V6.

Awesome! That's really all I'll use my truck for, too. Did you need the new ucas or just decided to replace them? What brand did you go with?

It's hard to say if I needed them since I bought them before I lifted my truck, but I didn't want to risk it and have to install them after the fact. I went with https://www.amazon.com/Specialty-Products-Company-25470-Control/dp/B001DC1U4O

I think which ever route you decide to go as far as lift, after market UCAs are probably a good idea. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the info! I agree. Better to replace them and not have any issues down the road....... I'll look at the link and check them out!

Maybe 2 dead even after they settle. No big deal, you'll have plenty of room to fit up to a 295 or a 255 (33.5ish)

The total chaos are sweet, they do require more maintainence but are more rugged than SPC LR uca. I got the SPC since I'm not a hardcore wheeler (got my 4wheeler for that). Uniball tend to take more abuse but you have to grease them up often

Hey sorry I misread. Go with the 888 for 2.5 range.

I carry a lot of weight in my truck, 887's @ 0 gave me just 2" of lift. Running AllPro UCA'S, air bags and Wheelers 3 leaf HD aal. Rides like a truck, stiff but controlled. Can't imagine stock springs @ at the highest setting being any smoother.I get like 18 mpg's with my 285/70/17 tires being easy on it.
