Good for you. Even replicating the factory amount isn't a bad idea.

Why not keep it? It's actually there for a few reasons.

That's only for looks. Looks are important, but not at the loss of function. For me anyway.

Like I said medium difficulty to a little more on trails is what I'm looking for ...sand and snow

I guess I don't understand what I will be losing in performance ? But I guess that's why I have two ears and eyes and only one mouth lol. Please educate me

Although the 6112 setup is s much bigger shock ! That means running cooler and absorbing obstacles better right ?

Performance means something else to me, as these certainly are far from performance vehicles for most of us. But there are drive ability and wear considerations.

Rake allows bed loading w/o excessive nose rise. Impacts headlight position, braking and cornering under load.

Rake allows towing w/o excessive nose rise. See above.

The front end steering geometry is engineered with the balance rake creates in mind. Changing it changes the steering geometry.

If you level the truck and compensate for the load/towing ability with adequate rear spring rates, you're going to have a rough ride unloaded.

So, choices depend on the use of the vehicle by the owner and components selected. Too many build for what they might do someday, instead of what they know they will do 85% of the time.

So do you suggest blocks instead of AAL? The coils will get me 3 inches so to keep a rake I will need 2.5 to 3 in the rear. They do have blocks for 2.5. Will that be a better ride as I don't haul stuff realy

Not me. Not a fan of blocks or spacers.

I'd set the rear for the load usage you want and lower the front. It seems fairly common that anything over 2" in front will often need UCAs to achieve proper alignment.

I do like that you're targeting using springs to achieve the lift, not preloading via perch settings. It's possible that in the spring rate you need there may be different lengths. You might contact Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road to discuss that option

Thanks, ya I have talked to her a lot. She has been excellent and gave me good advice. My problem is that I want to go with 285/70 17, which I know need 3 inch and still might have rubbing at full lock. I was going to get this kit but it would level the truck in the end. If I go with 2 inch in front I could still use the AAL and it wold keep the factory rake. But I would probably only be able to run 265/70r17. I know, I'm undesided on what to do

I think some folks are running 255.80.17 on stock wheels (so the offset is proper) and they are very happy with them.

Because of being slightly narrower and on a proper wheel, no rubbing issues.

Something to research. Certainly fill out the wheel wells fine and work fine off road. Likely work better in snow too, if that's a need for you.

I'm thinking a set dakars in the rear will handle whatever load you are using thus eliminating the rake ! Yep I want to be able to get where I'm going, but I also want my rig to look good!
As for the lights! With or without rake if you raise the front your going to have to adjust your lights .
