My truck sees majority pavement 95+% and we I do go off road its nothing ever major. Would there be any benefits of going 5160s over 5100s for road use. I tow fairly frequently in the summer with a boat. But I usually load up 400 miles a week commuting. Would I see any benefits from those or is it mostly offroad.

Haven't tried the 5160's but have the 5100's for over 40k miles and they have been great on and off road.

I have 5100s in the front with 2.5inch spring from ome, and I love em. I ended up with with some trash procomp shocks on the rear thanks to a particular national chain 4wd store.:puke:
But I havent experienced the 5160s.

The 5160s would be most beneficial if you do a lot of roads with washboard or where your shocks are getting long periods of hard use (rough roads or whoops) at faster speeds. The reservoir allows for more fluid which keeps them from getting too hot. Unless you plan on that type of driving, 5160s are probably overkill. The 5100s should be more than sufficient for the type of driving you have described.
