Ok so I am getting some 5100s and 887 coils next week and what I am trying to achieve is littl better ride with minimal lift . What is the setting I should set the front struts at.

The bottom notch will yield approximately 2 inches and change.

0- to get the "best" ride according to several members on the site. Some members have went up to the first not notch to get additional height but did not mention any increase in stiffness etc. if you want the same ride but a little higher go with the 888 Springs, which is the same spring rate but just longer. The OME Springs are not designed to be preloaded according to ARB USA rep.

If it's a little too low for you you could always add a quarter inch spacer at top it'll give you about a half an inch , I don't see a brush guard bringing the front and down too much ,it probably weighs 50 pounds , I think you'll be fine getting you 2 inches.

You can do that safely? Adding a 1/4" spacer to the 5100's with 888's that is?

To either the 887 or 888 , several people do it , others go up the 1st notch on 5100 on 887 , could work on 888 but OME says it is not recommended to run their springs that way. Also people normally run a 1/4" inch spacer on left front on top to alleviate Taco Lean , but my opinion a OME trim packer would free up top hat to add 1/4 inch spacer to both sides of extra height is wanted or needed.
