you're welcome. I know the men that were there. I am rejoicing not because UBL is dead, although that is certainly good cause. I am rejoicing that my brothers prosecuted a difficult target on short notice and showed mercy to those who were not a threat, and vengeance to those that were. That they can come home safely to their families is a testament to what we are. Odds are though, that they are looking at the next threat, getting ready to head back out.

Most of the analysis is saying the Pakistanis knew he was there the whole time...it was essentially impossible for them not to.

Of course, they're our allies. On paper.

You could be more right than you know. Analysis *also* suggests a lot of the money put into aid programs in occupied Afghanistan ends up getting funneled to the Taliban because locally employed...erm...security forces? Aren't exactly on the square about where their allegiance lies.

Direct credit to the SEALs and CIA intell ..etc. They are the team. Credit to Obama, yes , in the " on his watch" kind of thing,he makes approval on intell, think of the world today may 2nd if he said "let him go, better things to do" 1-2 years ago. He couldve. He didnt , he stayed the course as Bush had started. Damn good team work and perseverence , building for 9 years.

Good job to them all ,and troops just trying to keep the peace and build them back up.

The biggest question I have regarding this whole thing......His "compound" took 5 years to build. Well.....With all teh eyes we have on that place, WHY didnt anyone notice a fucking COMPOUND being built? And WHO may have been building/funding it?

the intelligence community is not omniscient. They cannot see everything. It is a lot of running down leads, hunches, and severley fragmented peices of a multifaceted puzzle to get a glimpse of a larger picture.

In the third world, just about anything is selective if you offer the right dollar amount. Hell, you live right next Mexico. You know this!

They have known for awhile too. They took notice but didnt jump right away. They had to make sure this was done right. They actually built a copy of his compound to practice raid in afghanistan. Who is the one that had no idea? :D

I also think once we knew he was there we went back over the satellite photos and watched it being built. We knew the exact layout and that was how we built a replica of the compound to train on
