Binding/Metallic sound from front end while turning

    Hey guys,

    I was driving on a windy road today and when turning somewhat sharp (25 mph “recommended” turn, going maybe 30-35mph) the front end seemed to bind up. The wheel would pull the other way somewhat and the traction control light would come on. A metallic type of sound also accompanied it.

    Any idea what this could be? Truck is lifted but only 2”. 4x4 was not engaged. When I went very slow through the turns it was ok but when going into them somewhat fast (not anything crazy at all, I’m not a fast driver) it would happen; happened 3 times in total.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Would it really kick in going that speed? I drive this truck pretty lax I can only imagine what it does for more aggressive drivers!

    It's always kicking in pretty agressively when I'm out drifting trails in the desert so I just turn half way off by tapping the button once

    Bumping this for any additional opinions. Totally could be traction control but I don’t feel like I was anywhere close to losing traction when it kicked on...

    2" lift? Maybe some high offset wheels/tires?
    Any slip indicators light up?
    Did you have VSC recalibrated when you had it aligned?

    Not really high offset, method roosts (even with the fender flare).
    Yes the traction control light kicks on
    Not sure if they recalibrated, never really knew that was a thing!

    There was a guy on here a while back where the 4x4 actuator was broken. Dash said 4x4 wasn't engaged, but it was. Do you think it is possible it is in 4wd? Just tossing it out for suggestions.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t think it is honestly, I don’t get any binding at low speed right turns like I would if it was in 4x4. Just mid-speed somewhat right turns. Going fast enough to get a little body roll but still nowhere fast enough for any traction issues
