@Steelhead Taco I'm not a falconer. I'm a wildlife biologist. Back in college days I volunteered at a raptor center.

Anyone played the game Wingspan? Just got it a few months ago with a few expansion packs, it's a pretty good game.

I guess I need to reply/respond to my statement. BE’s are still “bitch” birds. But they are magnificent, beautiful creatures. I live in extreme NW Alabama along the Tennessee river. They are very common these days, not the case as I was growing up. It’ll take a minute to find these, and they are not my pics. They were shot by a buddy of mine. I think he stated this was a $7,000.00 Cannon lense?

What would be a good pair of binoculars that won't break the bank?

    Hi all,

I have a grey francolin mother that has been sitting on her nest of 7 eggs for around 7 weeks now right by my bbq. Pretty sure the eggs are shot now but she is still trying to incubate them.

Next time she's off the nest should I get rid of them or just leave nature be?

So I actually candled the eggs yesterday. All of them have a air gap taking up approximately 1/3 of the egg and the rest was a fairly dense substance. I couldn’t see any particular mass or embryo/chic. The substance didn’t seem to move when rotating the egg.

It’s been nearly 8 weeks since we first saw the eggs which should take no longer than 3 weeks to incubate.

Mother is getting skinny but persisting with trying to incubate.

I’m probably going to give it another week, otherwise I’m going to intervene and remove the eggs so she can get on with life and get the next clutch going… also the. I don’t have to keep moving the bbq away from the nest!

I concur, I’m a full time photographer and have full faith in Nikon quality.

The biggest potential problem with glass is mold and dust. Paying good money for weather sealed will pay for it’s self in time…
