    I had a pair flying around but very aloofness due to some golden eagles up high. Your’s is the southern variety due to more barred plumage!!

    grouse are a little crazy. they'll walk right up to you, completely unaware of danger. i was out hiking a few years ago and there was a male chasing some girls around. they kept darting back and forth across the trail so i just sat down and started watching them. i had my legs stretched out straight in front of me and the girls were going under my legs and one even jumped up on my leg :laugh:

    some spruce grouse i came across last summer. there was about a dozen roaming around the area at the time
