I have on again off again tweeting noise from my glove box. It literally sounds like a nest of birds is in there. I was told by the previous owner that it had something to do with the passenger airbag, and if disconnected it would go away. I thought I'd ask ya'll for advice prior to going in and messing around in there.

    Thanks,
    John

Have you tried checking for birds? Haha jkjk but i would take out the glove box and wait for the noise to come back. Try to isolate it. Might be a blend door motor for the evaporator acting up. When the noise comes does it go away on its own shortly after a key cycle or at random?

It comes and goes at random. Some days it wont act up at all, while others it will tweet its lungs out. It isn't constant either or predictable at all either. does mulitple tweets to a few tweets, no tweets. It occurs all on random.

Sounds like it could be the infamous 1st gen dash squeak. Mine seems to do it at random as well. Some folks have had luck with wedging folded up paper or something similar between the windshield and the dash/A pillar. YMMV. Worth a try before you go disconnecting anything.

If its a dash squeak can you attempt to play with the dash pulling pushing shaking etc with it and get it to duplicate?

Not sure. Just know that it's a complaint I've read about on here before. Mine seems to do it on cooler mornings. Don't notice it much later in the day. Haven't tried the paper wedge thing yet...I forget about it at the end of the day. :D

The dash squeak drives me crazy. Not to thread jack, but Does any one know a proper fix for that ? Also it sounds like to me your blower motor could have debris in it.

Have you ever purchased something for your Yota and been like, "damn, I should have done that a long time ago"? I had an annoying dash rattle but didn't do it all the time. When it did do it, I could press on the dash where it meets the windshield (passenger side) and it would stop.
I purchased some rubber seal strip and placed between the window and dash. Haven't heard a peep since.
