Thanks for the post.

There appears to be a gap between the mounting bracket and the bed wall, right at the height that your factory bed rails were reinstalled. Are your factory bed rails more flimsy now that they are mounted to a floating bracket that does not sit on the bed wall? Would you feel OK mounting a rack system (to carry a canoe) to your factory bed rail?
