Take benedryl. It helps when bitten or stung by something. If it doesn't then go see the doc.

Well I haven't been feeling anything abnormal, although my leg still goes numb from time to time. Maybe I'm growing?

Give it another day. Don't waste your $ until you're sure something is wrong...there is a case of the *brown widow* in our parts now though....that's what they're calling it. They say it's like the blk widow, but more venomous. I'm pretty sure it isn't the brown recluse though.

I've got (literally) 16 in my backyard, along with 4 black widows.

I've seen alot of brown widows around here too. Going to get a propane torch with a long nozzle tomorrow for some extermination.

here's a trippy looking widow. My buddies and I caught one of these around his house http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latrodectus_tredecimguttatus

If I remember right I think the experts say that on average you can eat about two spiders a year in your sleep, without you knowing.
When I was a freshman in high school I remember waking up on a school day and felt something small in my throat. I reached inside with my fingers and pulled out which looked like a spiders leg. I tried to vomit but couldn't, I don't know for sure if I did swallow a spider, but I'm pretty damn sure It was a spider leg.

Kind of a sick story, but I hope you guys sleep good tonight. :D

Not necessarily, I'm pretty sure there are brown recluses in CA, just not real common. They're mostly found in central and lower USA. You can google them, I did a while back when I was delivering soft water tanks into some crazy places. They look like daddy long legs, (sort of) spiders don't freak me out like alot of people though, but they are to be taken serious. I know a dude that almost died from a blk widow...he kills every one he sees now, as do I.

There's so many different kinds of spiders in my backyard. If I get one, I'll let you know.

If your so worried about it, than maybe you should think about going to the hospital to see a doctor? Better to be safe than sorry I guess.
