Congested city driving with a stick sucks, slow technical trails with a stick sucks, sand running and hill runs with a stick sucks. Past that, WHEEEEE!!!!

Always had at least one manual floating around in the household. However, I prefer a slick short ''snick snick'' shifting sports cars manual as opposed to a longer throw truck transmission.

lol I am 32. I have 2 younger siblings who already drive stick funnily enough (one drives a miata, the other drives an rx7). Unfortunately they live across the country, so I couldn't really use their help. They also learned on automatic and picked up stick as adults.

Nice find! You'll pick it up fast. Also respect for buying a new car to learn on. I learned on beaters

No money, all went to truck...
Yup good advice here. Find a parking lot and get truck rolling with only clutch and no gas, stop and repeat. Let clutch out till it catches then press back down. Do this over and over and it will teach your body where the catch point is.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
There’s tons of younger people who doesn’t know how to drive stick shift. Most think it’s pretty much useless in their life when the majority of the vehicles in North America are automatics. Others want to learn how to, but just never had the chance to learn as there isn’t a manual car they can learn on.

I had to bring back 2 old Miatas for 2 people because they didn’t know how to drive stick shift back then and never had the opportunity to. They are now enjoying driving stick shift, and 1 of them is now teaching other people how to drive stick shift.

When I bought my truck the dealership sent a lot porter to pick me up from the airport. He asked me what I bought and I told him the Tacoma 6MT, he's like, "oh none of us knew how to drive it so I practiced on it". Not something I wanted to hear, but oh well.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
You'll get there, just be sure to practice in a place that you won't feel pressured by the traffic behind you. Between my wife and I we have put over 400k on four or five different manual transmission vehicles. Congratulations on the new truck!

On March 1st I drove home my new to me 2022 TRD DCSB manual, loving every minute. It's been eight years since we have had a manual to drive and it all came back pretty quickly. My biggest problem is forgetting that my Taco has SIX gears - all previous were 5 speeds. Oh, and remembering that its kinda hard to drink my coffee while shifting...
