    Hello y’all,

Here I am documenting my build. My truck is a white, 2009 5 Lug Access Cab with a 5 speed manual trans

This is the truck when purchased last year.

A bit of back ground on the truck. I purchased this truck in the summer of 2020 and instantly wanted to create it into something “reasonably” special.

The “mod bug” bit me very soon after the purchase and it led me to find the LCE header. I soon acquired it and installed a few months later while on my college winter break.

This was my first ever modification on any vehicle I owned except for a bit of intake freedom and a tune I did on a Chevy Sonic a few years ago. Thinking the header would quench the desire to dump more money into the truck and the fact the header was the best bang for buck I could get at the time, I let off the modification pedal.

I recently installed the HID conversion kit from headlight experts to beef up my ability to actually see the road.

Along with the bulb replacements and the header, I put in the AFE pro dry S filter and did the “elbow mod” and removed the secondary charcoal filter. Another part removal mod was the “black box” removal, the little metal boxes right behind the front wheels.

Just ordered a short throw shifter for the truck a couple of days ago from URD

Tonight I did the quick repair of the climate control lights, as they had both gone out.

I used a paint can opener to pry the control unit out.
Then removed bulbs from the back and inserted new ones.
    Good as new

They are Borbet 15 spoke wheels, they were on the truck when I bought it

You will love it. It really wakes up the feel of the truck.

I’m hoping so man, does it help with the gear lever wobble?

I can't say I really have any wobble, except for when I hit bumps/rev limiter. But that's more likely due to worn out trans bushings I should replace. With the URD shifter you need to reuse the plastic/Teflon ball that engages the shifting cup. That could be worn out on yours?

Possibly, I haven’t opened up the shifter to see yet, the kit arrives tomorrow, so we’ll see then

Good news! The short throw kit is installed! I’m going to let the gasket maker stuff dry for a bit before I drive it, but wow it makes a huge difference!

Also, the shift cup was not broken or worn, so I stuck it back in and will update when I drive.

The only warning I have, is I found it harder to get into first after the install. Especially while moving. Over 7 mph I can't get into first.

I appreciate the heads up man, I’ll post an update as soon as I drive it and let you know if shifting into first is difficult

@BananaMan how long did you wait for the gasket maker to dry?

It’s like driving a focus RS! It’s very notchy and crisp!
