Definitely not terrible for a gamble. As always, your expertise was invaluable. As well as your garage space. And tools. And beer.

    Trip Report June 2019

Wisconsin to Glacier National Park (and surrounding area) with @ajmogen.

WI to SD, stayed in Badlands National Park for the first night. Shared our dinner space (and not our food) with some overly friendly buffalo.

SD to MT, got out in Deadwood to explore a bit, stayed in Butte, MT for the night. Drive into an awful headwind and saw some mountains through the rain.

Got up early the next morning and made it to Glacier. We were staying at Kintla Lake which is WAAAY up on the northwest side. Cruised on some easy "trails" in the park. Unfortunately a decent amount of the roads are still closed, but we had fun anyway. Got hailed on a bit, so thats neat.

Kintla Lake is BEAUTIFUL. Set up camp, then went for a hike. Ate dinner. Stood out looking for stars and got confused when it was still light out at 2200. Took some cool pictures of the rain over the mountains on yonder.

We did some exploring on the west side of the park and into Idaho to visit the state and see some neat bridges.

Then drove back to Polebridge via some fun trails very close to Canada.

Drove down into the park to explore a bit more -- Going-to-the-sun road was closed at Logan Pass so unfortunately we could only drive up a little bit on each side. St. Mary Lake is lovely and has great views of the peaks. Actually, everywhere is lovely and has great views of the peaks.

TC +2 and Kings, they've been sitting in the shop for almost a year. Just been a busy year for me and a busy year for them.

If you're still thinking about OVTune, don't expect miracles for fuel economy driving into a headwind. Normal driving after 2 tanks is +2 mpg for me. Driving into a headwind mpgs is not affected. It's definitely a better engine feel, feels closer to the 4.0 with snappier throttle response. It'll definitely improve shifting in your case. But headwind milage did not improve

TBH 2 mpg is better than nothing. I'm hoping that it might help me a bit more than you just because I'm fighting that AT 5/6/5 dance at highway speeds on my way to work, but I don't expect miracles.

    Still gotta order it though.

The first part of my JDF order has arrived -- LCA Pivots + Integrated Skidplate (Steel) with zinc-coated hardware. Everything was very well packed, even UPSs rough handling didn't seem to damage it. It shipped in a 24x24x6 box, weighed about 75 lbs.

After opening the flaps, you can see everything is packaged nicely with padding and little room for movement.

The smaller box in there has all the hardware and instructions inside.

    T H I C C hardware

Free deciduous hardwood included with purchase!

Overall, super well packed. Instruction pictures are dark and blurry but written instructions are super well written. Looking forward to the rest of it and install!

Not yet, shocks are due in this week or next from Locked

Also yes. Buying a house as well as being absolutely slammed at work is taking up more of my free time than I'd like.

Trying to figure out a June trip and optimally a Sept/Oct trip, probably down towards my family's place in Park City, UT. But I'm also very on board with some stuff around here/midweeest

Sounds good! I'd like to try to spend a lot more time in the truck this summer/year. Last year was kind of a wash with work and the whole, you know, pandemic thing.

TBH I'm looking forward to having a garage to a. store my truck in, b. actually be able to do some work on it instead of scrambling to do it in the bays at work.

Are you partaking in the TWAT ride in april? I think it's soon, I'm probably going to get mandated for work as we're upstaffing for the summer so I will probably pass.

Gonna try to. I get my second covid shot the day before so we’ll see how that goes. First one was just a sore arm for first 24 hours.
