Do the 6 lugs have something there. I just took mine out but I think they are really strong and reinforced. And they seem to be right in front of that weld in the body

Funny, I just removed mine and my cut looks just like the photo posted. I actually just popped up two of the plastic rivets and peeled back the wheel well liner up from the bottom making a backward "L". All the bolts for the box were then exposed, removed the bolts and the boxes. I chalked an outline and took a Dremel with a wheel attachment to cut the raised plastic wheel liner sections out and plugged the rivets back in. I sprayed some black plasti dip where the exposed metal was just because I had some and it made everything black again in the area. Whole thing took 30 minutes.

Readylift for now. TC UCA's soon.
Pardon me but you guys are tards. If you need someone to show you how to remove that box, you should not be working on a vehicle. Or working on anything. At all. Put down the wrench. Step away from the wrench...

i think that is the bump out that is in my way of putting on mud flaps.i was afraid to drill into it to put a metal brace down to keep flap sturdy since i had to cut around the stupid bump to put on flap.are we saying it is just an empty box,no use?

So it would be worth getting the lift? With the readylift could I run 31x10.5 without rubbing if I removed the black box?

    Any help? Thanks - Will
