Black cap on Red Tacoma???

Hi guys
I bought a 2012 red crewcab SR5. Back windows are tinted black, I habe black wheels (mags).
I found a used Leer 100R for a good price, the thing is: it's black.
Now I wonder, nowadays, there's a lot if vehicule with two different colors, I find it really neet.
I can't find a picture or an actual Tacoma with a cap of a different color...
Your advice please!!!!

I had silver on my black tacoma, I had to paint it, couldn't stand out after time.

Then I decided to actually paint because some said to bedliner or wrap but I wanted it to look classy.

It cost 300.00 to have it painted.

 

In his defense I didn't see any second gen red tacomas with a black shell.

I had a white shell on my MGM 2012 for a year. I bought it off Craigslist. Then I found a white Tacoma owner who was rocking a black shell and convinced him we should trade.

I think a black shell would look great on your red Taco!

 

I'm pretty particular when it comes to my truck, so a red truck with a black topper wouldn't be my thing.

 

Do it- it's worth it. Color match at Maaco for $300 if you hate it

 

IMHO, keep all of the body panels the same color and save contrasting colors for the accessories (bumpers, wheels). The cap can be though of as just an extension of the body, so keep it the same color.

 

Not a Tacoma, but my buddy put a black cap on his red F250. It looks good with the two color combo.

Do it. If you are going to contrast colors black is the one to use. Give it 6 months, if you end up hating it have it painted

 

Personally I think a black top is the only color that looks good on a truck of a different color.

A lot of people use soft tops on their trucks and they are almost all black (sometimes grey). That's actually what I plan on putting on my red Tacoma in the near future.
