Ever considered painting them black with a set of 1.25” spacers?

Here around NM and southern CO, non-matching toppers are common enough to almost seem to be a point of pride.

I could probably talk myself into a black one for my Barcie-Red '18, if it had all the features I'm after. Not glossy black though. I'm thinking a Line-X texture would work with the black fender flares and a few black graphics/accents on the body.

Since no used ones are appearing, it looks like I'm gonna order new though.

20181010_181807_1539310272981.jpg I think black toppers look sweet on any color truck as long as you have other black accents all over the truck. Bought it used and it was silver so I sprayed it black with Plasti Dip about 3 years ago and it is still holding up strong. While I originally wanted it to be the same color as the truck, the Black has really grown on me.

Two colors on a truck look good. I personally consider chrome a "color" so if you go with a black shell, ditch all the chrome accents to keep it from looking too busy.

... And like ABQTruman said above, a matte black is the way to go.

Snug top Xtra Vision with a fold down front window for $240 I couldn't pass it up. Not sure I am going to paint it. This past summer when it was over 100 the blue was really hot to the touch while the white wasn't. Bought it primarily to haul dogs (when it's not too hot and why I may not paint it) and camping gear so still undecided on what I will do. Red, white and blue theme going on from behind. :oldglory:20181121_103933[1].jpg

I get your concern. Heat is a concern here too: I had the thought of getting black sides and a white top surface unseen from the ground, unless your last name is Chamberlain or Byrd, but that just comes out to too much effort for an old, used topper.
