Well there's a good thought! Guessing that's cheaper than whatever the dealer wants for OEM parts BUT I'll miss all of the fun removing it... and it's mate!

I like the smooth option. Unless someone says that the Tufskinz are a terrible idea, I think that's the solution for me! :spending:

I'll never know if there's any factory ugly underneath, but I'll have to live with that I guess. ;)
    Thanks!

EDIT: Well, now that I look at it, $160 for the "domed"/smooth seems a bit much. Not a fan of the cheaper pebbly stuff. Back to square one. o_O

Holy crap! I didn't look at the price for the "domed". That's ridiculous.

Well, after a LOT of searching I finally found the Toyota part numbers, they do NOT make it easy. Toyota calls it "Black Out Tape". Prices aren't as crazy as I thought they might be, <$35ea. from the local dealers participating in http://parts.toyota.com.

    Gen 3 Tacoma Double Cab:

    Front Door RH: 75921-04010
    Front Door LH: 75922-04010
    Rear Door RH: 75923-04010
    Rear Door LH: 75924-04010

Of course, double check with the dealer to confirm.

So I'll probably go with the OEM black out tape from Toyota for both of the passenger doors so that they match.

Many thanks to everyone for all of your terrific tips, tricks and suggestions, much appreciated.

Hope this helps anyone that stumbles across this thread in the future!

All 4 of mine were stained when I bought my 19 used. I assume from something the previous owner tried to clean or coat them with.

Pulled off all 4 then went to the dealer and grabbed the replacements. Took maybe 30 min to do all 4.

i had a similar mark after a coworker opened the door with bleach or hand sanitzer on his hands. i used some polish and got it out.

edit: well nevermind, my doors are painted in that area so don't think polish would work.

I just wrapped behind my rear door i somehow scratched it when I removed my sr5 emblem so I covered it with a wrap. Easy to work with need sharp knife and really a heat gun and squeegee and some soapy water. The center was already done from factory.

enough in this roll to do both sides. Really easy to work with and sticks well and doesn’t rip easily.

I’m redoing the drivers side goofed it up a little around the edge. Pass side came out perfect though but that was the second one I did.
