Why does my 2019 TRD sport come with painted to match flares when so many others are black. Looking to install black ones.. Is factory the way to go.. Don't like the riveted look..

If you really want black, and you don't want aftermarket, you have a few options.

    Purchase OE flares - $$$$$$ - $
Trade with someone else on the forum.
    Have them painted (or DIY).

Why didn't you just get an offroad then?

Black fender flares is the gateway drug to turning a sport into a Pro clone.

The painted are much better. This is what the plastic flairs look like after years of exposure to sunlight. \/ \/ \/

Throw some mothers back to black on that. Also why I make sure I wax and seal the trim pieces as well.

I tried everything. The product that worked best was Meguiars Tire Shine.

Matched looks cool. I vote that you keep ‘em. The black is supposedly for durability on the trail, but a lot of contemporary manufactures are slapping it on cars because, from a distance, it makes the wheel well look larger and the vehicle thusly more “off-roady.” But whatever you want to do with your money and your drive is your deal, obviously.

Just put about 5 coats of plastidip on them. If you ever decide that you don’t like it, peel it off.
    Cheap and easy!

Couldn’t they just be rhino-lined or something? That can’t be too pricey

My SR doesn’t have flares but if it were me I’d plastidip them or try and trade for a black set.

$5 can of Plasti-dip and your good to go.. If they scratch, hit it up with more Plasti-dip.

My rims are plasti-dipped Camo, but these are stock Off-Road flares.

I like the painted, not black, especially after they age a little and turn the ugly grayish color.

Color matched is actually a feature. If you want them black, mask and plastic-dip. It’s a reversible decision.
