Does anyone have a part number for just the Toyota black emblem in the grill. I know painting is an option, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to. I have seen a set with the front emblem and the doors, but my doors are already blacked out. Aftermarket would be fine as well.

    Thanks

I mean it is as easy as it gets to pop it out and try paint first. It will cost you the can of paint. They is a YT and the logo comes out in 2 seconds. I did mine with plasti dip. I figured if it didn’t match or I did like it no harm no foul then buy a new one.

How well/how long does the plasti dip hold up, and is there a reason for plasti dip vs regular paint?

Plasti dip is easy. I think it will hold up better on the front as it is rubbery and will hold up to rocks. Paint is potentially going to chip and would take more prep plus a primer to do it right. I did it a while back to a Cadillac emblem and it looked good after 4 years. Who knows but it is so easy and quick why not try it as you are planning a buy a new one anyways.

There's 3 little tabs behind the emblem. I got it off in about a minute and painted mine tuned out pretty good. If you go through the Toyota dealer you are gonna have to pay for the full kit.

Plasti dip all the way. First mod I did because I just happened to have a can around. 2600 miles later and not a single flaw in it. Plus, it just peels off if you don't like it.

Yes, be careful handwashing plastidip. Go gently in that area.

I spray painted mine black. Will hold up better. And if there’re any issues I can just respray it.

I was initially worried about that, but not so far. I use a foam cannon, mitt, and pressure washer. Washed several times and no signs of degrading. If it does, I'll just pop it off and hit it with a couple more coats.

No issues with either hand washing with pressure washer or the local automatic car wash. So far at least.

I run it mine through the car wash about once a week. Still debating.

Box liner spray. Should be very durable. I put a coat of black paint on first to hide specks that the box liner didn’t quite cover.

I popped mine off and took it to a local body shop and asked them to paint it for me the next time they were painting a black vehicle. It now has a fresh coat of "Mercedes Black" and looks pretty good.IMG_9870.jpg IMG_20240619_114008007.jpg IMG_9883.jpg
