Black Grit in Fuel Tank - What Is It?

    Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I removed and reseated all relays and fuses, and I found a 7.5A ignition fuse blown in the fuse box behind the left side of the instrument panel. Replaced it, and after a couple of tries to fill the fuel lines, the truck started. It probably blew when I was using a jumper wire to try to run the fuel pump. After it started, I had to re-do the front / outlet connection of the fuel filter with more thread tape, though, because it was leaking gas. After doing that, it wasn't leaking anymore. I told my son to drive it around town a few days to see how it does. If it acts up again I'll do another filter change.
