That looks awesome! I am thinking about doing this to mine but I wanted to make sure I did it correctly. You all mentioned you plastidipped the scoop. Is the stuff painted on or sprayed?

Someone mentioned that you can purchase plastidip at Lowes. Is there a specific plastidip that you need to purchase? What steps did you take to complete this mod?

Sorry for asking some many questions but i am very new at doing these types of mods to my truck.

i got it at the home depot..it will be in the paint section. It basically looks like a can of spray paint. I just took the hood scoop off, cleaned it real well, and then applied 4 coats. Allowing 30 minutes between coats.

You could buy an extra scoop insert and paint that if you ever want to go back to original color!

So I was just doing some research on the plasti dip. Whne you all applied it to your scoop, did you just spray it on. Was there any sanding for anything else besides a good cleaning? How well did it hold up?

So you just pulled the scoop off and painted it. You didn't do any sanding for anything else???

I buffed it up with a scotch pad, and then cleaned it with paint cleaner. Make sure you clear coat when done, it helps with the bugs.

i used my wifes nail polish remover to clean the scoop, buffed it with steel wool
and painted away. i was in a hurry to get it back on and didn't let it dry long enough
now i have a little finger print on it.
    so let it dry good
