Instead of paint I'd dye it. There are several products on the market for doing this (SEM is one company) and plenty of videos on-line showing how to use the products.

My local powdercoater is now doing it. I think there may be some one on TW doing it too.

Well, I don't care for painting stuff so I go after oem later model parts that are black and a coupla things like the rear storage bins from a double cab that'll black out the rear wall, recover the armrests in black vinyl, added black oem window cranks, swapped black face off single CD onto a 6 disc HU, black weather tech floormats, black wet okole seat covers, black wet okole console lid cover, kept the base model black cupholder on center console out of the 05 AC when trading in for 08 RC & 2013 steering wheel with black ornaments since no audio controls. Black carpet can be had easy enough aftermarket or later model oem. Black center console can be had from later models. Black door sill trim and kick panels from later models. Black seat belts from later models. Black tweeter trim from later models. Black rear pillar trim from later models. As far as lower dash, headliner, windshield pillar trim & lower door panels....I got nothing, bust out the paint or dye or wrap. I would rather have as much stuff molded in black so any scuffs or scratches stay same color. I would be more prone to wrapping some things vs. painting. Mine is mix of black/gray and will stay that way to a degree, not looking to completely black out the whole interior. I would like to do carpet next.

Doesn't hurt to try, if it doesn't look good it can easily come off. Another option is to take it to a shop and ask them about what can be wrapped, if certain shapes are impossible to do, or if certain texture/materials don't work well with wraps. Unfortunately, I have never done it my self so I can't tell you from experience. I've seen a lot of crazy stuff wrapped though. There are a lot of how to videos out there and you can gauge for yourself if this is something you want to try. I'm contemplating on wrapping my roof in matt black, which I would try to do myself.

Saw someone had wrapped the steering wheel ornaments in carbon fiber and it looked really good.

I'm thinking about wrapping the lower door panels what wrap should I use? I think all black in that big of an area might be kind of boring so what do you think about some wood-look wrap maybe on the door handle/bottom of the door/ around the tweeter accent

Looks good OP, I'm planning to do a few pieces in mine to hopefully create a cleaner appearance. Do the steering wheel panels just pop out?

No. There are 2 t30 torx, one on either side of the wheel that affix the airbag. Airbag then needs to be pulled off and set aside or on top of the wheel. Then you can unscrew the stock plastic pieces. Of course unplug battery beforehand.

Both 2nd gen types have same setup - 2 side cover panels that pop off and then the torx for airbag are inside. 3rd gen is most likely same setup, dunno tho, haven't looked.

Yep, that............iffin my plain black ones get marred or scratched somehow, the carbon wrap will happen to mine. Also like how the pwr mirror switch bezel and gauge rings are done in the pic above. Only thing is it opens a can of worms where doing the steering wheel ornaments will make you want/need to keep going with it and do a bunch of other stuff. I might be able to just live with the steering wheel being done in this case tho.......
