I'm about to make reservations with the campground. @Bluegrass Taco do you know if the others you have coming have made reservations? @tacabode What about you?

I was going to try to request a site next to someone if they have already made reservations.

EDIT: FYI Just looked on the campground website and the KY Off-Roaders is scheduled for an event that weekend. Not sure how many people will be with them. It's on their calendar of events on their Facebook page too.

EDIT II: Just reserved the 2nd to last RV site. They're only $5 more/night over a primitive site with no water or electricity so I think it's well worth it.

They were there last year. We entered through Evarts trail head that time, and crossed paths with them midway. Approximately 20 last year, which has no relevance to THIS year.....

Not sure about campers. I know 3 couples (inc us) that are staying @ motels. I'll be @ the campground by 5 or 6 PM at the latest, just to hang out and visit. We'll be near the trail head around 8AM Saturday morning.

Guest list includes 7 Toyota's (so far)

two first gen, four gen two, and a 4Runner. Still a few "maybe's" (XTerra, XJ, Range Rover)

Not too many clearings like that any more. Trees have taken hold.

No trees up at the old helipad landing. I don't know how the trail is getting up to it now but I don't think it's had too much time to grow up from the last time I was up there.

I got site #1. I don't have anyone else on my site yet, but I'm not positive what my other buddies are doing yet. They don't have their primitive sites shown on their website so no clue where those are in relationship to the other sites. Google Maps doesn't offer much insight either.

@tacabode It's looking like my buddy isn't gonna make it. He's working two jobs now and doesn't think he can get off for Friday. If he does come he'll only be there for Saturday I'm thinking. So I could put someone else on my site. Probably could add two tents really as I'm sleeping in my topper.

Got my CB all hooked up and ready for another trip, currently touching up my sliders and fender flares with the help of a West Sixth Amber :drunk:

Is this the guy with the turbo-ed 4Runner? I was looking forward to seeing it. My SIL has a 4Runner and wanted me to study it closely.....He has aspirations of doing something similar.

Check list is getting shorter! CB is FINALLY working. I spent an eternity trying to figure out why no one was receiving a signal.....just to find out it was shipped (new) with a bad mic. Replaced with Astatic ambient noise cancelling power mic....and we're 10-4 good buddy! Low powered radio.....but gets out 4/5 miles fairly consistently. Should be good for my needs.

I have to pick up lens caps for my new camera. Charge camera batteries (both cameras)
Wife got her new binoculars last night. (I got my wallet shredded when we went to Academy Sports....Sucker for cool tee shirts)
Building a pile of "stuff" in the garage floor, to be packed in truck on next Thursday
Gonna rotate tires and grease drive shaft next week.
Coolers washed out and covered with post it notes (what goes IN coolers)

We will be leaving home about 11AM Friday. Hope to be checked in motel and back @ campground to meet everyone who's there, by 6 to 6:30PM.

Sorry for the slow reply, I was at red river gorge all weekend.
Awesome! I'll split the cost of the site with you. I don't have much gear, small tent. I can probably get ahold of an easy up but with the way the forecast is looking I don't think we'll need it

I've got an easy up. It's in rough shape but once staked down it gets the job done. Depending on the forecast I can bring it. Site has electric too so if you want to run some things remember to bring extension cords and auxiliary power strips if needed.

@minigrowl Ya man I think we should be good with 2 tents and me in my topper. They charge $5 per person I think after the flat rate for the night which is good for two people. They just called and confirmed my reservation so I should have asked then.

It reads: "Primative camping $15 for up to 2 people- $5 for each additional."

What time you planning on rolling through Harlan? Its ~3:30 to get there from Btown. I didn't know if you had other stops along the way or not. Trying to figure out my schedule.

Us old folks like to stop at every rest park along the way! Last year, we made it from home to Harlan in 4-1/2 hours, but we did stop in Lexington for breakfast. We hope to roll through Harlan around 3:30 to 4PM. We'll go straight to our hotel, unload a few things then return to the camp ground by 5:00 or 5:30 if all goes well. Remember, wife on board.....Time may expand or contract as she sees fit.

Really want to go to this with you all!!!! I used to do the trails in Livingston years ago and always wanted to wheel Harlan. Gotta find someone to come with. How many people going and how extreme are trails you all usually hit? Literally just got the Tacoma prob to early for body damage. Hah

Ps I did the Harlan County High School football field so was down there for over a year couple years ago. It's beautiful!
