Well I decided to finally pull the trigger and slowly but surely start to get rid of some chrome. I decided to try something different with the paint so I decided to try out some "Plasti-dip" picked it up at Home-Depot for around $6. Mainly used this stuff because I plan on using it to do the emblems so I wanted to keep the color tone the same for everything. I decided to black out those cheesy chrome fender trim things. Now on to the PICS!!!!

This is only with 2 coats so it coats stuff pretty darn good! I am gonna let it cure overnight and see what I think about it and either keep as is or put on a few more coats. More pics coming tomorrow!!!

Im going to do the emblems same way, purchased plasti-dip and painters tape yesterday, probably won't get to it until sometime this weekend though, due to classes . Ill be sure to post pics either in this thread or the other that I've got up and show you how it went. If all goes well with the emblems and the plasti-dip holds up then I will consider doing the rest of the chrome on my truck. Ill keep you updated!

I did my back badges, but I don't think I let it dry long enough, because when I peeled the excess, it peeled off the letters too. :(

    And also did the emblem.

I love it!!! But I will warn you I would only use the Plasit-dip for the emblems. I either should have put a few more coats on of I either hit one on the way out the door, but anyhow there is a little place on one where it is kinda peeled back. But its not that big of a deal. Ill just spray it with some real paint if and when it starts to come off. BUT I do have a problem now!!! Should I keep the emblems chrome? Or should I black them out too? I think the emblems kinda balance out the bars and tool box, but then again I dont particularly like chrome. I need opinions!!!

Wow that looks great! I actually like the balence of the chrome wheels, toolbox, and emblems. I think you should keep it how it is.
    Great looking 2000!

Thanks everyone!! And yeah I was thinking the same thing about leaving the emblems. It just kinda contrasts everything nicely.
