Black out trd grill with camera

I would like to paint or wrap my grill from the trd off road 2020 but it has a camera anyone have experience with painting or wrapping the stock grill and switching out the center Toyota emblem with blacked out emblem..

 

The center Toyota emblem is also the TSS garnish

 

So you can’t replace that whithout getting a new camera?

 

You can’t camera behind emblem .And to get the camera recalibrated to a new position will cost you a lot .

 

Oh wow so any suggestions on blacking out the grill is there anything you can do?

 

I don’t see why you cant paint the rest of the grill .. just don’t paint over the emblem and keep it oem .

 

would black vinyl wrap work for the logo? it's still transparent

 

You can pop out the TSS sensor, wrap the grille, and then pop it back in. But the emblem would still be shiny. Not sure if someone makes a blacked out replacement TSS sensor that isn't for the TRD Pro grille.

 

I have looked and talked to people. You can get a relocation bracket but would need to put some plexiglass in front to weather proof it. However I have heard over and over again that if you don't use the stock emblem or go with the Pro grills "hidden" cover, issues will arise. I gave up my search and came to the realization that is a little bit of chrome I will not be getting rid of.

 

So what your saying arcteryx 79 is that you can black out everything but the emblem without having issues with the sensor?

 

Yes. Based on my conversations and what people have tried. The TSS sensor is behind the Toyota logo so as long as you don't impede the signal through that logo your fine.

 

Not doubting you there. I'm sure it can with some tinting film. As for mm wavelength, we all know how finicky that is...cough cough 5G. Lol
