So up here in the Northeast pollen season is finally coming to a close and one of these weekends I'm gonna do a deep clean of the tacoma. Mines black and as y'all know black showes everything. My problem is that I have a well pump, not city water, so it's hard water and anytime I've washed the truck the waterspots look almost as bad as the dirt and dust that was on it. Anybody know of any ways to remedy this?

    Dionozed Water tank.
    https://clean-garage.com/spot-free-wash-systems/

They hold resin which absorbs the hard minerals (calcium/magnesium) leaving spot free water. The lifespan of the resin will depend on how hard the water is.

Ideally you'd have sediment and carbon filters inline before the DI tank to prolong the resin.

If you want to go a step further Aquasure makes whole house filters, softeners and R.O. systems for both city and well water.

Well water and new black truck here too. While I don't know our well water hardness compared to yours, my first wash in medium sunlight was to say the least, a disaster with water spots even keeping the entire truck wet before drying it off. Last two times have had spotfree washes by doing both of them in shade. Once early morning well before the sun came up over the treeline and once after the sun went beyond the treeline early evening and the truck itself was cool. Keeping the truck overall wet and then using a hydrophobic ceramic spray (Technicians Choice TEC582 spray) and two Chemical Guys MIC1995 Woolly Mammoth Towels, it was spotfree both times with real nice beading when it rained. Unfortunately, like every other black vehicle out there, needs a wash within a day of washing it when all the tree crap and garage dust glazes over it.
