Mechanic told me I need spacers in order to install my new black rhino 16x8’s. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm no expert but I don't think that's correct, what backspacing and offset is on the black rhino's?

What offset? Its entirely possible if you bought some with too high of an offset.

The wheels are 16x8 -10 offset and 4.1 backspacing

-10 should have zero issues clearing.

Next question, whats the center bore size?

Or better yet, link to the exact model wheels

Perhaps it’s as simple as needing longer lug nuts? I’m bringing them into a shop that does custom work soon.

Only thing I can think is center bore. The taco has a 106.1mm center bore, these wheels are 112.10mm. While these wheels will fit they are not correct for the vehicle, so some shops may refuse to install them for safety reasons. My guess is he meant hubcentric rings to fill that space with the mismatched bore, not actual wheel spacers.

    EDIT: These "should" do it

Couple things you can do, hub rings and and extended studs. Can you carry them out and install on the truck yourself?

Would I need extended studs on top of the hub rings?

with hub rings you shouldnt need extended studs. If you ran spacers then you would need extended studs.

I did need different lug nuts, but that was the only thing.
