In my opinion they look just fine, if you like black rims.

Myself, I love black rims on my CRF450R but I'll pass when it comes to the truck.

    4x4 OFF-ROAD... that is all I need...
this just made me decide on whether to use glossy black or flat black... glossy black looks better! I think the 17" sport 5 spoke rims don't look as rugged as the 16" OR rims when painted black. But their both better than stock. I've seen someone paint only the center cap black on the 16" OR rims and look really good. Very different style, but I think I'll do what you did. Looks sick!

Ditto for gloss... powdercoating will hold up better than rattle can paints... altho I've never painted rims, I have used spray bomb epoxy paint on outside metalware that proved very, very durable.

Did I mention that it was durable? Check it out... and for the price you can't beat it for a shake and spray application.

    http://www.vhtpaint.com/epoxypaint.html

(Costs about 8 bucks a can... NAPA normally carries the VHT brand.)

Oh, and it handles well too... almost like automotive enamel, so long as you properly prep your surface and both the material and outside temps are above 70 degrees. Shooting it on cooler makes it dry slow making it prone to run. Numerous light coats allowed to tack will yield superior results in comparison to a couple or even 3 heavy wet coats. I say put the paint to 'em!

BEFORE I SCROLLED DOWN, I WAS GONNA SAY NO WAY JUST SAVE AND BUY SOME RIMS YOU LIKE. THATS WHAT I DID.
HOWEVER NOW I SEE THESE GUYS ON HERE WITH THIER STOCK RIMS PAINTED AND IT LOOKS DAMN GOOD...
MY ADVICE, PAINT EM, DO A DAMN GOOD JOB...
THEN WHEN YOUR READY FOR NEW TIRES, SELL WHAT CHA PAINTED AND GET WHAT YOU REALLY WANT WHEN YOU CAN AFFORD THEM. OR JUSTIFY BUYING THEM RATHER.

    - Billstein 5100's all around with OME 885 coil springs. - K&N Air Filter - HID Headlights & Fogs - Kenwood Stereo & Infinity Speakers - CB Radio, - Fog On Anytime mod - Anti Tailgate theft mod. More comming...
I'm going to be buying some NItto Terra Grapplers in the same size within a few weeks. Also want to paint my sport rims and get 5100's.

Let me ask you this though. Why did you get the 5125's in the rear rather than 5100's all around? I'd like for my truck to sit exactly how yours does. Would i still need the AAL if i have the TSB?

I got the TSB instead of the AAL. (it was a free AAL) with the 5100 's it sits perfect if they are set at 2.5

Question to those who decided to get them powder coated. What did you do with the truck while waiting for the process to be finished? I live in a Condo, and theirs no way that there going to like my truck up on blocks. Whats the best way to go about this whole process? ie: where to put the truck?

I figured out my problem. I'm down in Fort Lauderdale for work and I was able to find a place to do the powder coat, balance the wheels, and also keep the truck inside in one of the bays !! the place is called Elite Roads. They came highly recommended from a dealer in NJ. I should have my truck back by saturday!

I think powdercoat would be much more durable than painting them but depends on how long you can have your wheels off and how much dough you want to spend .

Ya but it's only $25 total for all for painted with some krylon flat black. And if they get scratched, it's just touch up not new PC.
