@ Rakso: I like the idea of flat, or eggshell or matte. Reason being, in my opinion I love the rugged look of a truck and gloss, while it'll look sweet, gives off the impression to me of being a purdy truck and not a beast. Plus if your tires aren't always glossy, the contrast between the glossy wheels and dull tires looks weird IMO. Plus I also don't like glossy tires.

In general, I think powder coating would look better for sure and is more durable when it comes to UV, salt (mag-chloride here in CO), etc... but if the wheel gets chipped, there's no such thing as touch up for powder coating. So for me, painting them is the way to go. Achieve that rugged look and having the ability to do "touch up" when it comes time.

    Looks awesome

Did you go with a gunmetal color or is that just the bright sunlight playing tricks on my eyes?

These are flat black.....I took the pics in the AM with some smoke covering the sun!....cane fires :)

Yeah....have to paint the weights up as well.

I'm super happy with the badges as well....I actually broke the plasitc welds behind the hub with a flathead screwdriver. It made it easy to paint then slap the badges back on with a little glue. What do you guys think?

    kf808,

looks real good! good idea with taking the badges off, it was probably much easier than taping them off. What kind of paint did you use? How much did you use? Any other pointers? Could you get a different pic that isn't so bright? Thanks bud.

took me 8 hours to do all 4 wheels today. i only had 1 jack lol.

my dumbass dropped a lug nut on the rim while re-installing one of the tires. i had to touch up with a cotton swab.

otherwise, i'd say it looks pretty good and it was cheap on the wallet! :D

    what i used:

Duplicolor wheel coating black x2 cans
    Duplicolor primer x1
    Duplicolor wheel coating clear x1
    320 grit sand paper
bucket of soap, water, and brush
    goo gone
    OEM jack
    ipod!
