He keeps saying it's NOT! Im startin to believe it:D Hey lso-you GOTTA open it up more often! Matter of fact, Chris-you left out a couple things on the engine's process you taught me-give him the whole scenario when you floor it.

Shoot you got me on the spot:eek: anyways I am one who likes to 'drop the pedal' at on-ramps and open stretches of freeway now and again-allbeit gently and gradually, never abusively. So I asked Chris if this driving behavior was hurting my engine. He told me definately NO. Matter of fact it helps the engine. The first obvious way shown by lso's thread is it evacuates buildup in the chambers. It also cycles a couple things in the system that don't get worked otherwise so basically it helps keep things smoother!

    Good job, Frank!
To add, it works your crank case venting system, as more pressure is built up under WOT. Revving these motors is not going to hurt them. The piston speeds at red line are still 30% from their limit, 17.2333 meters per second. I belive their max speed is 25 meters per second.

That was the whole process-the crankcase evac at WOT and this quote:) plus the fact that good old Toyota designs these engines to such high tolerances....hell your engine is supercharger ready! Toyota welcomes you to bolt one on! These are bulletproof plants, lso. That's the point. Get er out there and let it run out occasionally.

Now I have an excuse. Thanks. It's not a wig. If it was a wig it would have tipped back when I floored it.

How's this one for you, YOU are wearing a wig!

    Nope. All natural.

Fine, I'll drive it like Klown. Tell me more about this scenario.

I'm steering clear of that thread.

I threw a rod in my Saturn and I've been kind of shy about redlining engines.

Tell me less info, please. It's getting to be my bedtime. The take home message is, floor it every once in a while.

Alright, I'll let my wife know that I'm supposed to get a supercharger. What's your home number? She'll probably be calling you.

Thats because it is a crap motor

And dont be scared of the red line. It has a rev limiter, these engines love to spin!

Tell her that Ridge told you to get me one, also. :D
