Hey all, I’ve never had a black vehicle before and the pollen out here in Texas is going crazy right now. I’ll wash it and overnight it gets covered. I can’t put it in my garage but is there something any of your black taco owners do to prevent washing every day? I don’t mind doing it but damn it’s gonna get annoying this pollen season lol

Is this something I can apply myself? I’d like to keep all maintenance as far as detailing and general upkeep to myself. Thanks!

Honestly might be out of luck. It helped when I ceramic coated my truck but still pollen gets on there. Truck cover for overnight?

I used this for diy ceramic coating and really like it. Could definitely look into it. Would you think just a daily hose down would eliminate the accumulation or would I have to do a full wash each time?

I would honestly do weekly washes at most. Black and Tacoma’s in particular tend to get swirl marks and scratches. If you hose it down only and you use just hard water you’re going to regret the water spots that develop. If you coat the truck with the ceramic coating shouldn’t have to wash that frequently because the pollen shouldn’t stick to the clear as much

A good rinse gets the bulk off. A full wash will do a better job, but you won't keep up with it. Black looks great for the .5 minutes it is clean.

Okay yeah I figured it would show from frequent washes so I try to use lightweight cleaners and microfiber only but I’m still worried about that. I’m gonna have to coat it soon before this gets out of hand lol

I just got a black taco and didn't realize how much pollen the neighborhood trees produced.... like OP said until very recently. But I'll look into the ceramic coating that was mentioned

Love my black. I think it’s the cleanest looking color. Just gotta keep it up. Parking in the garage is a must. I wouldn’t of ever bought a black car if I didn’t. I’ve had 3 black Prius’, and now the Tacoma. Love the ceramic spray from Fortify called Shine Armor I got on Amazon.

Man I would love to park in The garage but it’s just not long enough. I put in a makeshift wood bench at the foot end so the bed wouldn’t clear it and the front sticks out the garage by like a foot. I’ll probably look into removing it, on top of applying the ceramic coating.
