    none yet, looking to upgrade.
Anybody else notice the 07 black Tacoma is slightly dark gray in the sun? Also, there's sparkles of green glitter all over the paint. I guess it's to attract more sun to make it shine but come on, I want my truck a rugged solid black, not candy coated with green speckles! Should I opt for a paint job? This is why you should never buy a truck when it's night! If I would've seen this paint during the day I would've bought a Tundra, there's no mistaking their black paint job.

I gotta agree with sak on this one.... the black sand pearl looks great! I've had multiple compliments on the color of my truck

i would have personally liked a plain black as on the tundras. it'd make all my black mods blend in better...lol. from a distance it looks solid black, but up close u can definately tell a difference. only difference between me and the OP is that i wouldnt have opted for a tundra, nor will i get a paintjob until its deemed necessary

Ya.. black sand pearl in definatelly not black. I love the colour though it hides the dust and dirt better during the day.

But I have to say that I was unhappy with the quality of the paint job. Not just my truck but every new truck. I guess it has been a few years since I bought a new vehicle. The paint seems thin to me, very easy to scratch.

But definatelly nothing to worry about. Its a great truck.

I have to say I like the Black Sand Pearl. Anybody can have a plain black truck because black is black is black. But the BSP sets the Taco apart and makes it 'not ordinary' and that is why we love Taco's...because they are not you basic run of the mill truck.

thats why i bought the silver mica..i really wanted a black car for the first time but it has to be solid black..not black metalflake..so i opted to go silver. if it was solid i would have bought it....the pinot of black to me is BLACK.. not greenish, greyish, brownish, BLACK!! black paint should be so deep it should look like you could swim in the paint..

I think a murdered out Tacoma would be sweet. Flat black + black everything else on the exterior (wheels, lights, etc.)

yeh i think jet black would have been sweet. but really i don't notice the sand pearl til i stand next to it and look at it close. a few feet away it and it looks like a solid black. i can live with it. but i do agree, don't buy a truck at night. i have to take mine back to the dealer this saturday because on the driverside rear passenger window there are two square fade marks from the damn factory stickers. f'n pissed me off when i was cleaning my windows and noticed it and wouldnt wipe off.

speaking of that, anyone else had that problem with fading tint from the factory stickers?

I love my BLACK SAND PEARL and in the sun there are sparkles of red blue and green.....:D It is also really easy to take care of a truck that is not FLAT BLACK.....;) I do agree that the paint coating is toooooo thin as I already have rock chips on my hood and it's only a month old.....

I like the black sand, I had it on a solora and you could not seem to tell unless you where right up on it.

Should'nt this thread be renamed to "kind of sorta, not really black Tacomas only"

I loved the color of my X-Runner (BSP) but I dont miss having to try and keep it clean. I have only washed my new truck twice and I have had it 3 months. :D

I didn't know tacoma's came in any other color then black. Who would even think about buying a vehicle that wasn't black? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Mine is blue (and, oddly, three of my coworkers have blue tacomas as well, mostly from the recent rust tradein). I would've gotten black (my MINI Cooper's metallic black is almost the exact same color as the Tacoma's black), but they made me a screaming deal on a blue one.

I love the color, but yes it seems too thin to me. I have scratches all over my Tacoma. I have a SR5 PreRunner the mirrors and door handles are not color coded if I wanted to spray them to match the rest of my truck what would I have to do ? I hear if you just go ahead and spray them the paint will peel after a while.

I love the truck but I had to have one of the doors painted before I drove it off the lot. They had miss a patch. The body shop was surprised and said this was the first they had seen like that.
