Wow...that's funny. And I'm usually pretty good at searching.

I told them to go black walls out but feel like I needed verification.

On a red and black truck, that's gotta be the way to go.

You already told the dealer what to do, then came here and asked us?

Rule of thumb: I think the letters on your tires should match the "4x4" on your mudflaps.

If you've removed the mudflaps or blacked out the 4x4 on them, then blacks out is probably the right thing to do on your truck.

But if you're showing a white "4x4" on your mudflaps, white letters out is probably also right for your tires.

I dig the white letters out. but they look terrible after the tires have a few miles and the white is more of a yellow.

No, but I did drop the truck off. They are putting the tires on tomorrow morning - still enough time to call and change my "order".

I forgot about the mudflaps. I do have the "4x4" showing on them.

Some guys ALWAYS answer this question "blacks out." My answer varies from truck to truck. Yours - I'd probably go whites out - mudflaps, nerf bars, light color alloy wheels, letters in the TRD decal all play off the white.

You make a good point and that picture really looks bad with those tires on it. Maybe its because they just suck but...I don't know...maybe whites should be out.

    Dammit...

I just had my DuraTracs installed today and I thought about it a lot as well but decided to go with "White Out" and I love the look. I think it would look sharp on your truck as well!

I just second guessed myself and changed my order.

I'm sportin' the white outlines out! They're going on today.

I think the difference really is the color of the vehicle. I went through the "Barcelona Red picture thread" and think the ones with whites-out looks better. On most other trucks, I like the black walls out.

    There you go.

And the best thing is, it isn't permanent. If over time it drives you nuts looking at it - just have them changed around at your first tire rotation.

Eventually, I'd like to get black rims (or black out the ones I have). If I do that, I will surely black out the tires too. For now, this will do just fine. I'm picking it up in a couple hours and will snap and post a picture for the hell of it.

I love the red/black look and it goes for most of my truck. But the bottom has the step bars, mud flaps and rims. The white will compliment it.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for putting so much thought into letters/no letters on tires.

Oh, and Black Magic Wet Tire is the schiznit! I spray it directly into my hand and massage it onto the tires - no overspray, no waste and you don't miss a spot!

Not to worry. Our wives all think we're crazy anyway. This just gives them something to hang it on.:D
