Both look pretty close, would probably want to try both to see which matches best on the wheels. I actually like these wheels’ painted color a lot on my SSM truck, but the silver on the wheels would look better matched to the rest of the paint IMO

i agree. both look good. i'll see if my sister can find those for cheaper somewhere. everywhere i looked you had to buy a TON of it and it was $100+ a roll. Would have to have a bunch of "for sure buying" types before pulled the trigger on something like that

Surely you could get them to send samples so you could chose the right color (and be able to get a good pic even on a small section) and your “for sure” crowd would likely grow quickly

Absolutely, no problem but I don't have long enough access to a heated shop until Mid January. It's too COLD in the frozen north to apply outside this time of year and expect good results.

I was gonna try to do an install video but the weather sucks here so it’ll be a while before I can even attempt that. Since orders are shipping now, just wanted to do a quick write up on what I did for my installation.

Be sure to set aside plenty of time, it’s a lot of pieces to apply and to do it right will take a while.

You’ll want to apply these vinyls to a dry clean wheel. I’ve done other vinyls with a wet application but that will not work for this. I tried and with the tiny surface area and shape it makes it impossible to keep the vinyl placed and get the fluid out.

    Here we go -

    1) Clean the wheels. I used a spray bottle filled with water. Spray it on. Wipe it off. I live on a gravel road so this is a good first cleaning to get the major dirt off.

    2) Clean the surface with alcohol. I’ve always done this when applying vinyls. It does a good job of one last cleaning and dries quickly.

    3) Double check the wheel and make sure it is clean and dry.

    4) Start applying vinyls. Peel the entire vinyl from sheet. I would align the inner most part first - the bottom of the U shaped piece. Lightly stick this to the wheel and check alignment. Assuming you’ve got the wheels thoroughly cleaned and haven’t fully pressed on the vinyl, you can pull it up and adjust as needed. I’d recommend starting with the top of a wheel first. Then going around from there. You could also take the wheel off for application but I did it still on the truck without issue. The ones on the sides can be somewhat tricky but it’s not that bad. Take your time and adjust as necessary.

Once you’ve got the inner most part lined up, start lining up one of the sides. These were usually the trickiest part because of you didn’t have the bottom part aligned these could end up being way off. They will stretch a little bit but if you are off by too much I’d peel the whole thing off and start again. Some of mine I peeled off 3-4 times and they are still holding fine once I finished.

The very last part is the little lip at the top. This is where you’ll take advantage of the stretch in the vinyl. I would take and stretch it a bit to make sure you fill the gap between the two pieces. I overlapped it with the next piece I’d place so there was no gap and it would appear to be one large piece.

Once you are satisfied with the alignment go over the entire vinyl and press to onto the wheel. I used a little plastic scraper but you can also use a credit card or some other plastic card. Work out all the air bubbles. You can typically just push them to an edge and get them worked out. If you’ve got one that you are having trouble getting out you can use a pin to poke a hole in the center of it to let the air out. Once you’ve forced the air out you’ll never notice the hole.

Repeat this for the next 5 and you’ll have a wheel completed.

That should pretty much cover it. If anyone has questions let me know.

Doing the first wheel was the hardest. After that you get a feel for it and the next wheels go much faster.

So far only one side done. But for first time ever dabbling in vinyl, I feel I did pretty well.

Looks solid! Dumb question did you pop of the yota logo under the trd decal, place it over it, or replace the center cap.

DANG. makes the OR wheel look super good. if they just wouldn't have done the chrome, it could have been a GREAT wheel OEM. Great job applying them!

I popped out the logo from the rear. I ordered a set of 60mm stickers from eBay for $15. They look awesome and make the vinyl adding even better.

Thank you! I've never done anything of the sort and had some issues with bubbles at first and then some of the small skinny ends don't wanna stick to well but so far they look great. They definitely should have kept the wheel all the same color that would make these awesome.

I got them off eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/152743264331

I’m ready to order one! I’m going to use Venmo but a little hesitant with so many names with Pike on Venmo . I just want to confirm there’s no picture attached to the account? I think it would be a good idea to attach a picture of a Tacoma or something similar so we know who we are paying.

Looking good even w/ the black. Next gen on these would be... ONE piece per wheel. though my guess is that would require a huge printer / cutter and require outside work. I'd just love them to not be discernible as individual stickers by being a single sheet. Or could be something similar to the tacoma tailgate letters I got where it was all one sheet, lined up the "O" and everything else was perfectly fit in place?

You are right. There isn’t picture. I’ll mention to her putting a pic of a wheel or Tacoma. Good suggestion.
