I can't find a thread on this and am ready to sell the stockers and am looking
for some examples.... I considered dipping the stock or getting them coated
but it just doesn't seem worth the effort, that and they're really nice as they
are but I just prefer black with a little chrome(maybe).

So post em up if you got em!

Do it. I love black wheels. Especially the TRD wheels. Just ask yourself if you want new wheels. If so just get em when you are due for new tires or trade in your brand new stock tires. Then sell the stock wheels. Someone with an SR might want them.

Powder coating is tough because not all places will dismount your tires and remount them. Places that do can get expensive. So you are better off selling what you got and getting new.

    But no chrome. Ever.

You can get black TRD wheels on ebay for about $800.

    Are you gonna lift bro?

You should lift IMO. But if you may do more than a level wait till you do that for new tires. Just in case you want to run bigger.

Well some people settle for good. I settle for nothing less than greatness. But that's fine I'll be broke and you'll be happy with your level lol.

PS: I don't off road either. I just like to drive a sexy truck. So I'm one of those guys.

Why do so many people like black wheel? I'm not that old I'd like to believe but I come from the days of everyone wanting polished or chrome wheels.

I tend to like both black and polished wheels because the black makes the polishing pop. I like to be able to see my wheels with full details. With solid black you really can't.

And I hate having to spend hours a month keeping lighter wheels clean enough to look good.

    Black looks prettier longer.

Plus I just like the blacked out look. Chrome is just plain nasty.

This is a sweet wheel. Still has polishing on it to pop and black chrome to help it look clean.

    Just my .02

If I liked that kind of look, I'd just stick with stock, they're nice wheels, I
just prefer black. This is nice, some chrome to show detail but not too much.

I like that one also. It shows the design of the wheel still. If I'm correct that wheel only comes in 20". I know lots of fuel wheels only are 20.

That is why I did keep the stock wheels. I think they look great on my truck in silver with the bigger rubber.

I've been going back and forth with that option since I got it. :D

I was hoping more guys would post pics of stock w/ big tires as well as rims like
the one I just put up above with bigger tires. I'm not doing anymore than leveling it.

They are goodyear wrangler duratracs 285/70r 17. I made friends with the guy at the goodyear store. I got the tires installed with alignment and warranty for 1100.

Yes, I have a 3/2 lift with wheel spacers. I know lots of guys here don't like my set up. But for me it works out nicely. Truck drive great and smooth. It has its stock ride feel still. Only down side it my mpg went to shit

Those are sweet and I had them in my list of likes. But they look like a bitch to clean.

I only have around a grand to spend on upgrades and I am going back and forth between those fuel boosts you linked earlier with stock wheels or bfg all terrain ko2s with these wheels... I also have a black Tacoma and it is all for looks. What do you guys think?

@ fieldarcher - those look really nice man.

I like those. "Only a grand to spend" You getting just wheels or just tires?
