Which widow are you running? Is it not loud enough? Bad sound?

    I thought it'd be louder.

Ah. Yeah I have the race venom. I could use a bit more volume but I think I'm just competing with the 4L's tuning.

I am torn between a Black Widow Venom 300 series muffler or a Flowmaster Delta 50 series. Anyone have any recommendations I would prefer a deeper more aggressive tone but not sure which muffler to get

I believe the black widow will be generally "louder" these motors are fairly tame in the 2k rpm range no matter the muffler (unless you have an open pipe). Under 2k or so you may hit some "resonance" but it's also generally low and above 3k rpm it gets fairly high pitched pretty quick.

I will be traveling up North this Thursday so I'll be missing the Anaheim Bruery meet again but maybe we can set something up so you can hear the race venom?

I've got a friend running this on his 2nd Gen, and it sounds AMAZING!!! He said that it's better than the Flowmaster 40 he had, and that it doesn't "drone" when going down the freeway.

Oh that's another thing: if you look at their website they recommend the 300's for "larger truck motors" I always interpreted that to mean v8.

If you look at the sound clips on their website for the Tacoma it said the 300 series but if you recommend the 250 series I'll probably get that one

I see one of both a Frontier's 4L running the 250 and a 2011 Taco with a 300. Honestly I have a major issue with sound clips of exhaust. You just kinda have to go for it and hope for the best, you know?

Race venom, their smallest muffler. I think it sounds fantastic. I'm trying to decide if I'd like a widowmaker or race venom on my Miata as well. Or go for something more "typical" to the Miata name.

How does the race venom compare to the flomaster 40? I want louder than my current borla but not super "Ricey" in the higher rpm.

I like it better than the Flowmaster. I found it a bit more aggressive for me with an over-all better resonant sound. A v6 will always sound "ricey" in the higher RPM :( but not quite as bad as a 4 banger of course.

Is the race venom more of a deeper tone cause that's what I want?

I say it is at lower RPM definitely more present of a sound than a Flow 40 was. A flowmaster I'd call more "throaty" with a sound more in the mid range. The race venom has a lower rumble under the truck that opens up when you step on it.

Full disclosure: mine is dumped under the truck. It moves a lot of sound under the truck and changes the sound.
