Blacked Out Dash Chrome

for anyone looking to shortcut this project, or at least try a test...

you can paint on plastidip. no trim removal required. just some masking and holding your breath for way too long.

 

I haven’t compared them in person but I recently had a customer request a swap from inferno to red glovebox decals because the orange was not a good match.

 

Soon! I’m working on the MT trim and the installation write up.

The glove box and door trim decals I got from you are VERY close... I like them a lot..!!
If the items are not side/by/side with the body paint, you'll not see any difference...!!

Here's a pic of my door sills... The lighting is not that great, but you can see where there is no glare, that they are VERY close...






If it was any closer, it'd be OEM... hehehe...!!

 

The fam bought me the door sill emblem, glove box and tailgate in Inferno...I am considering getting the factory trim that goes around the radio and vent also in Inferno...Just wondering if it's a glaring difference with glovebox decals.

 

I'm in for a set as well. I have the red orange trim on my new inferno and losing the chrome will make it look so much better.

 

Well, that factory trim piece does NOT match the Inferno paint job on the exterior of the truck. That trim piece is a duller shade and is "matt"...I suppose to limit the glare.

So, to answer your question......NO, the inferno decals are not a direct match as they match the paint job, and not the trim piece.

Having said that, I still like it......It does not NEED to match...... The glare issue..!!

 

The trim appears to be somewhere between the inferno orange and red.

 

@rrentrop any updates? Are you going to include that chrome ring on the shifter too?

 

Rich is sending my MT trim back. I will post pics when I get it snapped back in.

With it not there, I have to say that it has been great to not seeing the stupid thing shining or reflecting in the window.

It has been great to work with Rich on this little mod.

 

Interested in a set. The glare off the chrome is annoying.

 

Good things take time as I perfect the decals and the installation process to make it as easy as possible. I'll see what I can do about the shifter ring. I hope the MT and AT are the same!

 

I'm in for a set! Any ETA on when they will be up in the store?
