    When you removed was there paint damage underneath? If so, buffable?

    no damage. just adhesive residue that came out easy with lighter fluid/ Goo Gone and some elbow grease.

    dip is good for quick, reversible mods. i also did my stock TRD grille before i got the BAMF replacement. also did this...

    I did both. Removed the badges from the tailgate and Plastidipped the Tacoma on the doors.

    Slide some fishing line behind your badges to remove them. Goof Off will clean up the residue. Your paint will be fine underneath, especially on a new truck.

    At the very least, remove the dealer sticker!

    I wish I could put a 16 tailgate on my 15. I love the look of yours with that indented area blacked out. I'd probably vinyl that area.

    thanks, man! i was iffy on the look of the stamped tailgate and was leaning towards inserts for the "TACOMA"; but then i saw the user LetsGoPlaces had an Inferno TRD at their dealership with the bottom portion of the tailgate blacked out, so i lifted that idea.

    Fingernail and pull for the sticker, a little heat doesn't hurt but it comes off so easy it's hardly worth plugging anything in. Fishing line definitely on the badges. I watched a YouTube video of a "professional" detailer and he just went after the badges with a pliar. I cringe just thinking about it!

    Wife in passenger seat, not driver seat :)
    So I've got 2nd gen Tacoma alloys on my 3rd gen. I run my winter tires on them... They're so shiny and I love flat black. Would anyone recommend plastidip for rims? Will it have a peeling issue? There are lead weights on the rim bead and the rims are all doing the typical clear coat peeling, so I need to refinish the surface before applying anything.

    But will plastidip hold up over time on the whole rim?
