Yeah you can buy them unpainted and smooth or textured. The cheapest other than spraying them with plasti dip etc. is to get the covers that someone on here sells.

I had mine painted by a body shop and they look amazing and it was pretty cheap also.

Hey man, welcome to the Taco family, I'm kind of particular towards black chrome. Unknown on the cost, but it sure looks pretty, imo. There are also diy kits for lights.

Spray painted the wheels, plasti dip did ok, but Wisconsin salt wasn't a friend.
Badges are gone, left the front lights, and the tails but the third brake and reverse lights got smoked and then put brighter bulbs in.
Morimoto fogs with lamin x yellow filter decal on them. The front/side full body is the morimotos off, without the filter they are dark!

I really should kill the interior chrome it's annoying...

One of the pics is prior to tinting the mirror turn signals.

Also, I have a 2016 off road premium tech+safety package.

Bumpers, slides, wheels/tires, debadged, hidden light bars, hood struts, grille, diamondback tonneau, tinted windows, winch, Lift, dual batteries, husky mats, bed mat, seat covers, full skid package less pumpkin, etc etc. if you want pics of something particular let me know.

Absolutely. Load us up with some pics. You can't have too many of blacked OR's. Trying to find someone to do BHLM for me around here. It's a daily driver so I can't do without for ages, and if I try to do them myself, I'll go nuts and break something. lol... and TRD Pro lights are absurd expensive.

i hated the chrome grill too.... I plastidipped mine and added a little TRD badge that I like and think it breaks it up some but keeps the blackout look going. I also got the black inserts for the tailgate, debaged rest of the tailgate and plastidipped the side emblems.

For a total of $50 and a few hours it made a world of difference.

You could conjure the spirit of Bruce Lee and pretend your truck is breaking into an impenetrable fortress on a private island during a karate tournament ! Don't forget to teach your truck how to slap a saucy cobra.....

Toyota would love you to believe that only the OEM TSS cover works flawlessly, but that is a load of crap.

I purchase a couple of knock offs from Amazon and they work same as OEM.

Others have purchased OEM and have had issues. Sometimes these resolve themselves.

I for one love the fact that their greed has created a market for 3rd party grills, garnish and hopefully blackout overlays.

You can remove and plasti-dip the bumper caps, grille, and emblems or remove emblems all together. Decals can be removed with heat and Goo Gone for paint. TRD pro headlights and tail lights are darker and will do a world of good - no chrome internals. You could also buy Bumper Shellz by Ecoological, and custom car grilles (google search) has a few nice grilles but for what they are the price seems pretty steep. You do get the choice of customization with them though.

So that light bar was $30 ish bucks off Amazon it's a nilight. I wanted to see how much use it would get/ if I could properly wire it etc before getting a nicer one. I did the Cali raised OEM switch in a factory dummy spot. for $30 ish bucks and the fact that they sent me a warranty one right away because mine got barely dented in the mail was awesome. It's not a bad bar, I've had no condensation issues and it does improve back road driving but I live in a city so it isn't used as much. It's a happy medium with my brights it covers higher but also lower since I loose my fogs when my brights come on. It's also not legal here.

I used the L brackets and self tapping screws to mount it. No cutting, except part of one of the sides of plastic pieces that is designed to aim air into the engine.. but we were tired and it started raining. I'd be interested in upgrading but with Wi road salt I'd be concerned about rusting issues.

This form is a great reference, the L bracket idea was from here along with the instructions.

I'd like to do this! How has this held up? I'm concerned about the durability and having to redo it constantly

I just put these on last week, so can’t answer that. But, from the thread about these, people say they hold up well. For $30.... and you get and extra sheet for cases that you may have to touch up, it’s a great deal. I’ll let them go for as long as they last then rattle can the wheels black. Or, until I find time to leave the wheels off for a few days to dry.

Here’s the link to the thread.
