Plastidip is a special compound that you can get in a spray can form. It sprays on like spray paint, but the difference is it dries into a rubber like compound that comforms to the surface you spray it on. Big advantage over paint is that is requires near zero prep work (no sanding, primering, etc.) and sticks wells to chrome pieces. Also, if you screw it up, you can let it dry and basically peel it off and the surface is unaffected.

Ahh, Vinyl. I've thought about doing that since it would match my Vinyl graphics on the sides, but unsure about my skills to do so. I did manage to get my Sockmonkey graphics on perfectly, but I've seen one thread on here where a guy totally failed at his valence wrap. Props to getting it on right!

And you can do it with plastidip without even removing the bumper from the truck! Took me about an hour.

Well I have decided, next week.

Black plasti dipping the rear bumper (btw have you noticed all our bumpers are slanted down?), the 2 tacos on the doors, the one on the tail gate, the grill and then red dipping the symbol on the grill.

Still iffy about doing my rims....

Search around, I've seen a few threads were guys did the wheels, and they came out good. With Plastidip, you don't really have to be too "iffy" about it, because hey, if you don't like it, its about 15 seconds to take it back off! Your only out a few hours and 2 cans of plastidip. I say do it.

    ^ Good point, doing it!!!

How many coats did you do?

My research says do 3 on the grill. So thinking 3 on the bumper

It ended up being kind of like 2 and a half. Basically I did a super light first coat, which by the time I got around to the other side of the bumper the other side had kind of dried, so I went back immediately and did another super light coat. Then I let that dry for 30 mins, came back and sprayed a slightly heavier coat, let that dry, and it looked so good I didn't see a need for a 3rd coat, though I could have added one.
