Oh okay. I shoot trap. I like five stand and wobble also. Competed in high school. Took 25th or 26th at state in my division. I've only shot an over under trap shooting. Was a member of the ATA for a little while but with rona I didnt keep my membership going but might re register again this year.

Hmm...they're all distinct disciplines with different skills.

Skeet is close and fast but totally predictable. You always know what the presentation is gonna be.
Which doesn't mean it's easy, but with enough practice a really good, consistent and disciplined shooter will run 'em almost every time.
(Some will say it's boring).

Sporting Clays was intended to simulate hunting situations, and IMO it does that pretty well.
But after going through a sporting setup a few times, scores improve...until they change the course.
It takes some effort to change a course around, but at some point it has to be done or shooters lose interest.
Typically, it's a constant process of changing this station, then the next, etc.

5-stand is like sporting for guys that don't wanna walk the mile or so a sporting course requires.
Less land and investment needed, so it's cheaper.

Trap requires the least footprint and a really small club can swing at least a single randomly oscillating trap machine and cinder block traphouse.
(Though if a club has ambitions of joining a league, they need at least two.)
I've even shot at clubs where the stations at 16 yards were simple concrete landscapers' walkway pads.
Hired help is not needed (except for major shoots) because member volunteers can load up the traps...and that's it.

So trap is the cheapest of all (from an investment standpoint), followed by 5-stand or skeet, depending.
Which is a great advantage, and sportsman's clubs offering trap are pretty thick on the ground here in PA.
The second advantage is that you never need to change things up...target flight direction is always unpredictable.
The third advantage is that running a trap at max handicap (27 yards) is something only a small elite group can do consistently.
Even running them at 16 yards is no gimme.
This keeps shooters' interest.
You're already taking the target at long distance (for a shotgun) from 16 yards, at a target going away from you...fast.
A quick shooter at 16 yards may hit the bird at 32 yards, more or less.
At 27 yards max handicap, a top shooter may hit it at 40 yards.
So 16 yards of target flight from 16 yards, 13 yards target flight from 27 yards.
The disparity is because at greater distance, the angles are relatively less and the eye can focus on the bird more quickly.

All of which puts a premium on concentration and quick reflexes, not forgetting the discipline to swing smoothly.

I like 'em all, but trap is my favorite.
