Yea I agree. Definitely want some sort of mechanical failsafe so you're not 100% relying on full hydro power in the case of that happening.

Yea I loved to do a hydro set up but that’s what’s steering me away lol sucks the rack is in the position that it is. Makes it harder to figure junk out

Your already remaking the front end why not move the motor back into the cab some and fit a steering box in there with a hydro assist of some sort. Kind of like the new brenthel 6100 trucks

Have pics of the 6100 your talking about? I would but im already into the firewall, i dont wanna deal with cutting out the whole thing doing a panel firewall right now cause id rather not just patch it. At that point i would go center mount and cut everything out. Ill see how this goes for now with the stock rack. Idk theres tons of ways to do it but for now after these shocks come in i just want to get it going.

Man, I've been trying to get the Rack Saver that tntfab1 (instagram) advertises but he hasn't returned my DM's or email. Do you know anyone else that can build one?

I’m gonna have my dude build one once I get to the front. I’m sure he’ll build another for you too and ship it out.

For sure. Not sure when but the rear is still about a month out of being done and then we won’t touch the front till probably the end of June so it’ll be a while

Can’t find pictures from brenthels truck. Next time we go testing I’ll grab some pictures since it’s not mine.

Look at 1422race on Instagram or what’s yours and I’ll send it to you. He did a similar setup.

Seems like a negligible about of work for a serious strength gain and be less to move the motor now and rework the engine than later and have to redo the entire front end. You only need enough room for the pitman arm to rotate. So 8-12 inches is my guess?

Essentially it uses a Howe or psc steering box with a pitman arm and eliminates the need for a rack and pinion. Then the power steering pump gives the box fluid and can mount a hydro assist ram for help with the big tires.

same idea as a rock crawler but steering box is mounted in the middle rather than the frame rail. And hydro assist can push on the pitman arm.

If the inside isn’t caged yet, why nit cut the floor out, cut the firewall to move the motor back and then cage it and do a sheet metal floor. Be easier to mount Seats and could do more of a center mount and ditch the stock frame rails or even keep them and do a kit still.

Sweet. I can wait, I'm getting a cage done soon so all my money is going into that.

no updates but decided to model up a dual spare cage for the daily. Cant justify spending 1500 on the ones out there... literally 120 bucks in tube and simple math.. waiting on tube caps and strap mounts from kartek. Have the spares and straps already, picking tube up today also.

Small update. Tubes getting dialed in.

Getting closer to shock mounts and bump mounts after a couple tubes.

Shops packed so my stuff on the slow side. Not rushing in my end.

Town tubes on, one side of frame rail tubes in, next is fuel cell mount, then bump stops and shocks mounts and the rear will be wrapped up.

After that I’m not sure what direction the truck will go. I might pick it up and put it away for a while to focus on my degree and life priorities so not sure what’s next after the rear
