I have a go fast camper on my DCSB Tacoma and live in it full time. I have been running electrical back and forth from the bed to the cab and roof through the AC vents on the back of the cab for a while. Looking for a better solution. I was wondering if anyone has blanked the third brake light assembly before. It’s completely useless with the GFC on the truck, and the dome light is annoying. I’m running a four-conductor 16AWG SJEOOW cable with 12V and 24V plus two grounds to the bed to power my 3D printer and network box, plus a CAT5a STP cable to link the router in the bed to another switch in the cab.

Already planning to run wires through the front wall of my GFC with submersible cord grips, so if something doesn’t already exist I was thinking about a 3d printed option with a few knockouts for cord grips. Would have to be low profile so as to avoid the GFC.

Might be worth a shot hitting up Meso Customs to see if he would be willing to shoot you a stripped model of one of his 3rd brake lights. Seems like a solid idea though.

The 24V circuit is powering my 3D printer, so I’d rather avoid the variable voltage drop if I were to turn on my 12V air compressor messing up my machine. I guess the alternative is to place a 24/24 regulator next to the printer.

Probably not going to have the compressor in the cab, but there might be some other large 12V loads that could be switching on and off
