FX retros, Blazer fog-light retro, JVC KW-NT30HD head unit, Pioneer 6X9's in front doors, Pioneer 6.5's in rear doors, two Pioneer 12" subs in sealed boxes, Sony X-Plod amp, Hidden Hitch trailer hitch, EGR window visors, two PIAA low-tone horns, Westin light bar with two 100-watt KC low profile driving lights.
I would simply use the factory high-beam circuit to activate the solenoid. The challenge for me is finding bi-xenon lights that are completely sealed.

What's the "return wire down" mod? I just ordered these from TRS for my motorcycle.

Simply clocking the bulb 180 degrees, which puts the return wire down. In the return-wire-up position the wire itself blocks some of the light. It really did make a noticeable difference. To clock it 180 you need to remove a tiny little bump on the bulb itself, which is the "stop" normally. You might think this would leave the bulb loose or allow it to turn on its own but the gasket is plenty grippy to keep it from turning. There is a thread here somewhere that has some before and after pics, and a quick writeup.

Did you use the complete kit?? Or what piece/parts are required to make it work?? And where did you find the heat sinks?

Although the link below supplies the heatsinks, the shipping is just almost as much!!!!

I found a different site with a bit different style heatsink but the measurements the same. And shipping is 3 bucks! I'd get this instead. Scroll all almost all the way to the bottom and look for:

Just an FYI for those who want to save a few bucks, the link I provided for the heat sink works perfect. Also utilizes a screw/nut to fasten it onto the blazers. If you want, you can dab a bit of JB Weld. I think the lesser amount of JB Weld used the better the heat sink will serve its purpose. JB Weld not needed of course since the screw/nut method works just fine without.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on these and had an epiphany  You two who have already done this mod, I wanted to get your input to see if this would work... Instead of drilling from the back of the fog light housing, I want to cut off the front of the housing and use a shroud to fill the gap between the blazer set up and the stock fog light housing. I would not be putting the clear lens back over the front of the blazer so it'd end up looking something like this:

What do you think? Opinions? Comments? Observations? I think it'll look pretty slick if I can make it fit. I put in an e-mail to TRS to get some sizes on things. I'll let you know.

Since the Blazer fogs are completely sealed I think you could pull that off fairly easily. I did mine in the factory housing because I wanted them to look as stock as possible while still having increased performance. Plus, keeping the factory housing allows use of the factory adjuster. If you do go with a shroud like above, please post pics!

I would still stick the back of the blazer through the back of the factory fog housing and instead of a fog housing lens, there would be a projector shroud like shown above. Everything would be mounted to the back of the factory fog light housing so mounting would be stock and I'd still retain that stock adjustment screw. It'll be a winter project so I'll get some pics up when it comes to light!

you may be able to pull it off! but my concern would be if the mini gatling shroud will cover the remaining chrome parts of the fog reflector bowl... and then the other thing is that the blazer fogs has the 2 mounting posts already... is the shroud going to cover that?? OR what i would do is simply cut those 2 posts off...

Pugga, very good idea. I want to see this :)

    Stay tuned... :D

Hopefully I get some dimensions of the mini gatling shroud from TRS. I'm assuming whatever does not get covered by the shroud would be blacked out and so far behind everything it wouldn't really catch your eye unless crouched down at eye level looking straight in (assuming the shroud doesn't cover everything). As far as the mounting tabs, my dremel tool will make short work of those

I'm hoping to epoxy the Blazer projector into the shroud and then epoxy the shroud back to the fog light base. The Blazers would also be supported at the back where they poke through the back of the housing so they'd have 2 points of support.

In my head this works out great... we'll have to see how realistically possible it is. I think I'm sold though, I'm done procrastinating!

I hadn't thought about that... I don't have a set of blanks or know how they mount. The only issue I can see with the blanks is the lack of adjustment where as mounting the Blazers to the fog light housing would still allow me to retain the factory adjuster screws. The blanks might hold them more securely though. :notsure:
