Blazing Blue Pearl Thread

Very nice. A bed mat is a good idea, things slide around without one. I also have 5 inch nerf bars, they do protrude out enough to protect from door dings, but only from vehicles that have doors low enough to hit them.

 

Got to love the color and all the different styles of the blazing blue pearl taco's

 

I decided after seeing another one yesterday on the road to remove the TRD OR billboard stickers form the bedside. I'm going to copy the TRD Pro and do a black 4x4 and TRD emblem on the tailgate, replacing my V6. I'm digging the clean look. Also got front windows tinted too.

 

I don't blame you I was thinking the same thing I have removed the V6 badge on the tailgate and the dealership logo I like the clean look as well.

 

My advice if you decide to do it...be prepared for the industrial strength adhesive, lol. I was trying to use my heat gun which helped some, but when the decal gets warm is stretches and tears easy. If you don't heat it, the decal peels easier, but leaves all resides behind. Ended up taking a couple hours between removal, Goo Gone for adhesive, cleaning off Goo Gone residue and rewaxing the area. I'm happy with the results nonetheless.

 

I used 17 pound fishing line and it came right off I didn't have to heat mine up and used goo gone and waxed and looked like it was never on there, I'm thinking about removing the Tacoma badges on the doors or eather plastic dip then black haven't decided yet

 

Sorry, I was referencing the bedside decals. The V6 emblem came off just like you described. It gave me false confidence that I could knock out the bedside decals easy...instead I ended up missing dinner and having an unhappy wife, lol.

Went ahead an "Proseur'd" the truck a bit, removed the V6 emblem, and then added the 4x4 and just the TRD from the Pro emblem set.

Did you plastic dip or remove the Tacoma badges on the doors or are you leaving them as is?

 

I did the NoxLux overlays on them. I used the kit to do them and the V6 badge, which is now removed. Had I realized that I probably just would have manned up and gotten the replacement black Tacoma badges from Toyota and called it a day. Live and learn.

Yeah, they came out almost identical, which I was excited about. They're in different parts of the truck, but my OCD would have gone mad if they hadn't been close.

 

I'm eventually going to look into doing that as well.

 

Anyone know where to get the black Tacoma overlays for the doors without all the other ones you don't need for less than 100 bucks

 

I didn't find it in my searching, and since I originally planned on keeping the V6, I went that route. I wish they had just those in a set.
