Here is my little addition to this thread. My blue SR5 4x4. My next thing is to lose the chrome rear bumper caps. What the heck were the design people at Toyota thinking?
They could have went with black or colored caps--either would be better--IMG_0031.jpg but chrome? there IS no other chrome on this model except for a few small emblems. They must have hired a design school "dropout" to do this model. STUPID!!

The SR5 and TRD OR get the chrome bumper caps. Not sure why. But they are still a good looking truck! I love the BBP.

20170713_172438.jpg I have the Sport and I cannot understand, having the chrome grille, why it did not come with chrome caps. Why did the SR5 get chrome caps. There was a definite disconnect somewhere in the design process. Then again, if the stupid bumpers are all plastic, why fool the consumer with a plastic chrome cap that will crumple when hit by a bicycle. IMHO the entire rear bumper is somewhat of a joke no matter what the color. Chrome would work for me.

I agree. If I knew we would actually get good mpg's I would have bought a 4 x 4. I sold my 14 F150 V8 13.5/18.5 mpg and my 08 PreRunner 15.5/18.5 mpg to buy this 2016 that gets 18/25 mpg. I would give up some mpg's for the 4 x 4. Probably wouldn't use it 3 times a year but would be nice to have. I was really surprised, when I was looking for my new 16, that Toyota was making Off Roads in only 2 wheel drive.

NO way -- Crawl control Depends on having power to all 4 wheels -- The crawl control is very similar to Subaru's X-mode.
This is a more domesticated version of the Toyota system -- Remember Toyota owns 18% of Subaru. My 15 Outback came with the x-mode.
The car will (slowly) drive itself down/and up steep slick slopes -- all one needs to do is steer it. We love it. If and when Toyota puts all the great safety stuff on the Tacoma -- I may trade/sell up to a Tacoma that has Crawl control as well!
