I got the Car Hero inserts for Christmas...

The set came with all pieces to cover both auto and manual.

If someone wants the few left over manual pieces, let me know.

These are the left over pieces if you want them and most are for the console area.

I just got my BBP DCSB sport a couple weeks ago. It's a 2018 but only had about 5900 miles on it. I absolutely love it. Next to it is my radiant red 2008 DCLB prerunner with 178k miles on it. Still runs like a top. IMG_20191222_110830537.jpg
Trying to hold off a little on the mods... Christmas put a hurtin' on the credit card. I can't tell you how much I love walking out the door seeing this beautiful blue truck in my driveway!

TL;DR - It says so in the door, but is 8T0 actually the correct color to paint match a new part for BBP?

I'm looking at eventually getting a new hood, but I'm concerned about paint color. I've got a tube of 8T0 touch-up w/ a tube of clear coat, and I've got a metric ton of spots on my hood that I've had to touch up. The first few, I really tried to prep the chipped areas and apply the touch-up as properly as possible, but it still came out off-color. Those spots have had over a year to fade under the Texas sun (on a truck that's only a few months older than the chips themselves), but haven't, and are still pretty obvious discolorations. All the rest since then, I've mostly just dabbed paint on & then clear coated, not making much effort to polish/sand the touch-up down to the existing surface because they'll look off anyway, and this poor hood has been abused by the oilfield. Pictures attached, mostly of newer (still several months old now) touch-ups, with less attention paid to perfection. I'd hate to take a new hood into a shop and have them use 8T0 just for it to come out a significantly darker shade than the rest of the truck.

Use matte black vinyl on your hood? The vinyl will probably hold up better to the oil field abuse and when it get's bad enough, changing he vinyl is cheaper that a new or repainted hood.

Eh, thought about it. Used plastidip a long time ago to paint the Maryland flag on my Jeep's hood. I'm out of the oilfield now and while, yeah, matte black'd be cheaper, I'm probably going to eventually get a skewp. Plus with all the uneven spots on it, vinyl doesn't look quite as good--I've tried placing a few sample strips and it takes a lot of filling/sanding/polishing to get it to not have obvious divets on the surface

Yeah, for an '18 with 43k miles & regular proper maintenance, I haven't had any issues at all

Now THAT's a good candidate for some vinyl!

Baja mexico. It is a 2017 model Trd OR. One of many that were part of the bad batch of clear coat.

Unfortunately I don't, wasn't able to recover them after dunking an old phone. Might be able to dig up my 3/4's done one on the Ranger hood though.

My wife thinks that my truck, which is blazing blue pearl, is flashy. I think that its just a good ol' fashioned blue truck. Do yall think BBP is flashy?

I wouldn't say I think it's flashy, but it stands out from all the other boring maroon, gray, black colors on 95% of all the other cars on the road, so I could see why someone else might think that.
