    Hello everyone.

This might be a stupid question. But you know what people say, There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people. Something like that.

if I do just the BLHM is it ok to bake them again in a couple months after they have been painted to put some rx350 projectors and a few other bright shiny things in there after I have saved up? Or will the heat damage the paint?

My wife seems to think it will damage the paint. But I dunno.

I know waiting until I have a the parts makes the most sense, but I'm impatient and after seeing everyone's pictures I want and I need right now. Plus the butyl rubber is a lot easier to break apart, my point being that if I buy everything now and somehow fuck up trying to bust apart the permaseal then I have all the parts, broken headlights, no savings and no wife. The last one wouldn't be too bad though I guess.

Man, there was ( maybe still is? ) a member that took a video of his oven on fire when trying to bake his lights.

    Wish you good luck!

Yes you can rebake them later. As many times as you want actually.
In fact, the 2nd time you bake them it will be much easier to pull apart because you are not fighting the OEM sealant. Also, you won’t need to do as high as temperature because the new butyl sealant has a lower temp

He must have turned the heat up like crazy instead of just giving a little more time.

Thanks MESO!! That's what I figured. So I'm almost safer doing it this way instead of wasting money on my full build up front and messing it up.

Ya that’s fine. I scuff up the OEM chrome with 1,000 grit then spray the krylon over.

I think he used cardboard or a towel. You'll be fine, don't worry.

Do iiiiiit OP - it's fun to add your own little touches, if you're so inclined. For me, that was amber DRLs, among other things.

Oh and if you do go through with it, go ahead and snag some color matching @MESO headlight trim plates...it's the details that complete mods like this.

Was thinking about setting them on a box of toilet paper instead. Or maybe paper towel.

Which one do you think would give the best and most even heat distribution?
