Let's be honest..the dog should be free. All the breeder should be asking for is a loving home to send her pup to. Her options are keeping it, putting it down or taking it to a rescue or shelter.

I say do it man! Every dog deserves a good home regardless of where they're from or their background. Especially "at need" animals. I adopted my girl knowing she had parvo and a few other ailments. All of which don't affect her anymore. She's an "Alabama dumpster dog" or so I like to call her. Had a rough start, but she's great now!

My .02 on pet insurance is instead of paying the monthly who-haw to someplace with fine print, where you might not get coverage...just put some money aside each paycheck. You'll have a nice little emergency stash in the event of any worse case scenario. In any event it'll take the edge off.

He's very cute by the way.

I have an 8 year old english bulldog and all that fatty does is sleep. 23.5 hours out of the day you can hear him snoring. The other .5 is him eating. But damn he sure is cute.

OP I say go for it. Like everybody has said you want him, we all want you to get him so go get him. He'll be a chore to maintain but he'll be worth it

Here's a pic of mine (about 2-3 years ago, don't have any recent on my phone)

Dew it. Bullies are the best. I may be partial though:

I don't disagree necessarily, but what they're asking for now is what they say they've invested in the dog in terms of vet bills from the injury. I'm fine with that.

I most likely will... yeah, I've wanted another dog ever since I had to put my last girl down, it's mostly just been waiting for the right time and circumstances (and an English bulldog, at what they're asking, despite the injury, is definitely in that realm).

As for the generous offers, well I just don't know how to take those... whether they're real or not, it doesn't matter to me... I wouldn't ever ask "strangers" to help me out (yeah, we're all family here at TW, right? :)) If someone is really wanting to help the puppy out, well then I don't know what to say, other than thank you and you know how to PM me lol.

@BYJOSHCOOK - that is how my rottie was... sleep all day, sleep all night... difference being that I could take her with me everywhere, I doubt I can do that with a bullie.

At you both though, you're exactly whom I've been wanting to hear from (bullie owners)... Have either of you had any issues that arose from your bullies, or have they been relatively healthy?

Only issues we've had have been normal for bulldogs. You have to clean their rolls about everyday or they start to get gross and turn greenish (ours did) but it's just maintenance. But the one thing we did have to do is something with his nasal passages. They have a hard time breathing so we did that surgery to help with that before it got too bad. Just don't get them over heated, but in Oregon it shouldn't get as hot as Georgia

My first one had deeper wrinkles and I had to wipe them out once a day with a baby wipe. Neither had/has hip issues, current one had eye surgery last year to the tune of $300. Other than that just enjoying him :D

you'd be surprised... last summer was a record heat year... granted, it may not be Georgia-like, but for me... it was miserable (I can't tell you how many nights I spent at home last summer walking around in nothing but a pair of free flowing soccer shorts lol)

And my last pup literally went everywhere with me... every day to work, every date I went out on, every family afternoon bbq, every soccer game. ALWAYS... I know that I won't be able to do that with a bullie, at least not very often

You won't regret adopting him, amazing dogs with the personality to match.

Heres my soon to be 1 year old, Stella

You'd be surprised at where (if you can) take them, just make sure they don't get overheated mainly. They're great around people not to mention everybody goes crazy when they see them. My mom always takes him to the grocery store if she isn't going to be more than 10 minutes.

They do have personalities and they're really funny too

The upside is that I have a parking garage that I can park in at work, and leave windows and the canopy open to some extent for air and a breeze, and it doesn't get super hot in there, even when it's super hot outside.

My concern would be more in line of when it's too hot to take him with me... I don't currently have AC at the house, so my best bet would just be a fan blowing on him... and I don't know how well that would really work out. We'll see... Still waiting on the Vet, then I get to figure out how to pay for him (so he doesn't get snatched out from under me... I'm talking to you @KB Voodoo :luvya::evil::devil:)

You could get a small kiddy pool or something for him to keep cool in. That's one thing we did for ours when we were outside. Just filled it up a little and watched him go crazy in it

Agreed. We have a Yorkie who comes from a show breed line of dogs, but he's got brain issues. The lady we adopted him from gave the breeder a check for the dog but the breeder never cashed it. She just wanted to make sure the dog found a loving home. If they have issues that cannot be fixed they should be giving away to a home that will take care of them and pay the medical bills.

Oh I know it was just a suggestion for those hot days in the summer and you wanted to be outside or whatever

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Cute dog but I'd never buy from a breeder.

Also I wouldn't buy the story about injury. Likely mutation due to inbreeding.
